"3 of us visited for a late lunch on a beautiful sunny day in Sidmouth. The place was clean. Warm friendly welcome given along with details of the place was operating as now re- opened after lockdown. Track trace slips issued. We opted for beer battered fish chips with peas and tartare sauce. The menu also offers smaller portions of main courses which is great when you have a senior with you as they find it off-putting when you get a huge plate of food in front of you. Good friendly service. Value for money."

I often pop in here for drinks when out in town! Great music, great service and a fun crowd of people! Also very accessible!

Had a friendly welcome and we were well looked after throughout or visit. Plenty of room for my mother who was in a wheelchair. Food was excellent.

Situated on the main shopping street this is a large, rambling pub. It has a fairly spacious restaurant offering traditional pub food and a locals bar with Sky TV View menu

Very unhelpful staff. Popped in to see if there was a table free, to be told ‘yes, I haven’t got time to clean it yet as I am very busy’. Needless to say, I said ‘don’t put yourself out on my account’ and walked straight out.

Nice dog friendly place with nice staff and a reasonably priced menu. So overall well recommended, however, I will not be revisiting as waiting over 45 minutes after ordering for the food to be served, only simple orders jacket potatoes and salad, is just not acceptable.

Stopped here for lunch on a very wet, miserable Saturday. Do isn’t look much from outside, but staff were lovely and the food was excellent. I am vegetarian and their choice was very good. The dish I ordered, sweet potato roulade, was outstanding. Would highly recommend this place View menu

Stopped off while just wondering around sidmouth on a Monday afternoon and really glad we did. Firstly we could take our dog in with us and secondly the food was excellent, the steak pie was one of the best I’ve ever had especially with the (what looked and tasted like) home made meaty gravy. My partners steak was cooked just right and also very tasty, and the portions were big and filling. Will definitely take a detour to visit again next time we’re down that way......highly recommend.

"We had two dinners and breakfast from this restaurant because we stayed in the Home Farm Hotel. We wanted to have the dinner and breakfast during our stay, but had to cancel our plans due to VERY POOR customer service received from Richard and also...because of his wife's cooking due to overcooked and burned full cook breakfast we received from the restaurant. Day 1, Richard introduced his wife to us, but she totally ignored us and in addition, she did not even bother to acknowledged and smiled with us. She seems to be very upset or very distance from everything or stressed/fed up about something at the time. Not sure this was due to over working… Day 1, Richard requested us to come down stairs for the dinner at 18:00, but instead of taking us to the restaurant for dinner, he tried his best to hard sell the alcohols he had in the bar to us and also to all the other guests. This happened even after we told him several times that we only want the meal and no alcohol from his bar. After about two hours, I had to tell him that I’m a diabetic and heart patient therefore I do really want to eat the meal and have a rest. He gave us the menu and I asked for lamb which was on the menu and he went crazy and said to us that they do not provide English food in this restaurant. I showed him what was on the menu, but he did not even apologise to us. He said lamb run out and asked us to select something else from the menu, again we selected duck, but that was run out as well!!! By then, Richard was sarcastic and rude to us as well as to other guests… In the end, we asked what we can have for our dinner. He almost shouted at us saying he and his wife only there to run the hotel without any staff therefore, we have to eat whatever his wife can cook!!! Finally, at about 21:00, we managed to have our dinner and I asked Richard to cancel our breakfast and dinner booking for the rest of the days however, he said we have to take the breakfast for next day because it was too late to cancel it. Next morning (Day 2), we were near the restaurant since 08:00 as Richard requested but as usual, past 09:00 we received burnt and overcooked full breakfast for two of us. They had a very large menu but it seems like most of the food either his wife did not know how to cook or had run out. Richard charged full price for our meals, BUT he FORGOT to provide the good quality food and services to the customers…"
