"We went in for a few drinks a potentially look at lunch but it looks run down and filthy! We stayed for one drink but it felt so grubby, it was literally falling apart. The floor had duct tape down in several places, other area were patched up with MDF and others just showed an exposed foam like floor???! The floor was just exposed concrete, it was like we went in during a renovation but in checking the other reviews on here that’s normal! My husband said the men’s toilets stank of urine, I didn’t use the ladies loo as decided I’d rather use the public toilets down the road. Last serving was nice and friendly though."

The place is basically empty, no one to have a conversation with, rude staff and rubbish atmosphere! Poorly trained!

The food was delicious and the service was excellent. The restaurant has recently been renovated and looks clean, tidy, and very welcoming. I will definitely be returning.

Thought about eating here, but the inside seems to be a work in-situe situation, and despite a menu being advertised, we just had a drink. Hoping that it is just a temp situation, but no carpets, cheap cafe furniture, and small and bland range of drinks, and certainly not a place to eat in at the moment

The fish and chips were really good and plenty of it, however didn't come with tarte sauce or slice of lemon. Ordered a child's burger which was unrecognisable and the bun was solid. Lasagne had good flavour but was dry. We asked for ketchup as there wasn't any available, it never appeared went to bar to let them know about things and there was nobody around to talk too. So we left disappointed.

I had an incredible Sunday lunch at this restaurant. There was so much food that I couldn't finish it all. If you're a dog lover, you can even bring your furry friend along for a free doggie Sunday lunch. The place has recently been redecorated, making it much more welcoming than before. The only downside is that the toilets could use some improvements. Overall, the staff was great, the beer was good, and the Sunday roast was delicious. Plus, they offer a doggie dinner as well! Thank you. View menu

We decided to stop by for a meal and were warmly welcomed. We had our two dogs with us, and were pleasantly surprised when we were told that our dogs could have a complimentary dinner. It was a lovely gesture. Our food arrived promptly and I ordered the chilli con carne, which was delicious. I even complimented the staff on how tasty it was. It had just the right amount of spice and was homemade. My daughter had the burger and chips, which were also homemade and tasty. I highly recommend this pub.

We wandered in on a Monday night to find no other customers other than one, obviously a regular, propping up the bar. The barman was unable to provide Prosecco or indeed the correct glass for my Wife's second option. There was no carpet which was probably a good thing given how sticky and nasty the other furniture was, then when we thought things couldn't get anywhere another customer appeared who was very clearly on more than alcohol! This pub sits between two of Sidmouths main streets, is huge and really could be a destination instead of the last vestiges of the desperate and homeless. Avoid, avoid, avoid.p
