"The backstory of this pub is quite intriguing, but unfortunately, that's where the positives end. It doesn't live up to expectations as a good pub. According to legend, in the early 19th century, this place was merely a house where a widow awaited her son, who was serving in the navy. He was supposed to return home on Good Friday and had asked his mother to bake some hot cross buns for him. She happily obliged, but he never returned. Still, every year, she prepared a bun in his memory. Upon her passing, all the buns were discovered hanging from the ceiling. When the pub was established, they continued this tradition, and each year a sailor contributes another bun. You can spot the current buns (sorry!) in a net, along with some sailors' hats displayed on a shelf behind the bar, as they leave one every year. Sadly, the pub only serves keg beer and does not offer cask ale. Not my kind of pub."

"Not sure what happened during our dinner, seem like typical case of one table where everything goes wrong. Huge delays to get food, drinks, bill... waiting staff keep forgetting to bring flatbread for example. Bottom line 3 hours for a meal shows how long delays were. Glad I was in good company with friends I have not seen for long time. Still rated 3 stars as team tried to make up for shortfalls with comp round of drink and 1 free dessert."

"Large cod was all batter and no fish, so actually was about the same size as the small one was. Chips were odd, I thought they were under cooked, yet they were more rubbery than anything. Hubby said he got grit in his, very much as though they hadn 't been in the rumbler long enough to get the soil out of the potatoes correctly. Probably the worst chips I have ever had tbh."

"The food was great but the service not so much. We waited forever for our order to be taken. The order was messed up. Drinks were forgotten. We only got 4 glasses (and plates for the mezzo platter) while we were 5, had to ask for water 3 times before any was brought. The main came at complete separate times and it took us forever to get the bill and then to pay. Now the restaurant was busy but either you staff up or limit your reservations. But again the food was great"

"Popped by recently on a Sunday morning while on a weekend break to Edinburgh! I liked being able to see the pastries in the window, in order to decide what you want before going into the tiny store! The staff were really warm and welcoming, and advised on the products they enjoy. I picked up the Hazelnut Pain au Chocolat and a Pain Suisse. Both pastries looked stunning. I decided to save the Pain Suisse for a later day, but ate the Pain au Chocolat shortly after purchasing. This was really tasty! The pastry itself had a nice amount of crunch and squish, though I would have liked a little more crunch. The hazelnut frangipane through the centre was super flavourful and there was just the right amount! The chocolate through the middle was of a good quality but slightly overpowered the hazelnut when consuming both simultaneously. Regardless, this was a very good pastry and I would purchase it again! I'd recommend twelve triangles based on this bake. However, I must note that my friend got the pistachio blackcurrant croissant, and could not taste any pistachio! Update I heated the Cross Laminated Pain Suisse from frozen this was absolutely incredible! The filling was a perfect balance of vanilla creme and chocolate chips (which cut the sweeteness perfectly). Even though I had frozen the product, it was still super buttery and I got a good crisp all the way around. One of the best pain suisse I have ever had highly recommend!"

"we called to book a table I was polite and friendly to come by. I'm so glad we made it! we have taken my mother in the law for her birthday, it also happens the year jubilee of the dead of her man, so an important occation. when entering the building we were made to feel warm and we welcome ourselves decided in the traditional train car on the back of the building truley beautiful the decoration was well maintained and thought. we were served by a beautiful gentle man and in view of our menus I chose the steak, how mum my partner had the fish and chips everything I can say, it is sublime! beautifully cooked and the presentation was wonderful a piece of art a sensational eating, in which we could not fit the desert, but the choice was breathtaking! we will come back every year on this okcation and possibly a few cheeky times in between! I would highly recommend this place, the owners have it absolutely right my only bottom was I could not stay for another of there beautiful pints of zider! we look forward to the return and thank you for their friendly amazing service"

"I 'm on the search for the best Sunday roast in kent and The Plough was mentioned a few times amongst my searches and I can say it did not disappoint! The food was amazing, The only thing I could fault was that the crispy pork belly was not that crispy but I know that sometimes it just does not want to be but it still tasted delicious and the roast potatoes were amazing probably second best to my homemade ones I 've ever tasted! The staff were all amazing and very attentive and welcoming and would not hesitate to recommend this to anyone looking for a great Sunday roast! "The food was excellent, but the service left a lot to be desired. We waited quite a while for our orders, and our server seemed overwhelmed. They forgot our drinks, and we only received four glasses and plates for the Mezzo plate, even though we were a group of five. We had to ask for water three times before it finally arrived. The restaurant was busy, which could explain the chaos, but they should consider managing their reservations better. Nonetheless, the food was truly fantastic!"

"I was bought a voucher for this hotel from the work as a Christmas gift, but never the opportunity to use the voucher due to the kovid, the hotel was great and extended for me to allow in the april 22. the hotel is fantastic that we...got parked in front of location with a small price, and the check-in was prompt and a nice reception from the reception. the rooms are huge and the bathroom are probably the largest that I have ever seen with its washbasin over 30m2 the room was very clean and bed comfortable with a beautiful view over the docks, breakfast was excellent with a lot of choice, it is my intention to stay back in september with some friends. keep the good standards on the titanic"

"It's after 5pm. It isn't busy. The back area is closed for *cleaning*. The area at the front is filthy. Tables with used crockery and spills on cleared tables. The staff are not busy and are physically leaning on the counters. I've never once actually thought of saying if you've got time to lean you've got time to clean but this could be the first time. A woman just knocked on the glass counter for service as there's no one behind the till. What a joke. I get this is an Airport but basic hygiene would be nice."

"All went well for the first part of our visit. Orders taken, food delivered and delicious. But then it seemed we were forgotten for the rest of the time we were there. No check backs, no opportunities to order anything additional, and we had to go up to the bar to ask for our check."
