"great if they are lust on fish and chips, but like to sit and have a few extra options. beautiful fishing and chip removal and restaurant on the edge of the town of basingstoke. friendly staff. good parking. open the whole week from midday to late. chips beautiful and crisp on the outside, nice piece of cadjau in the light, crisp scatter. fish cake, gherkin and cake also went well. curry sauce came in a gravy boat. many additional options such as halloumi and baked mushrooms. a really good choice for the children, from sausages to sampi, with beans, mushy inherit or inherited option, macaroni cheese for those who do not want the usual. the children finished their teller without a squeaky, which is rare! beautiful selection at desserts and drinks (hot, cold and alcoholic.) peaceful on a Sunday afternoon, with 90s quietly vote in the background. fun decor."

still the best fishing and chips in basingstoke. Previously came here all the time, but had not visited in a few years mainly because of the pandemic. with my family returned and eating was amazing as always. my little girl loved her meal and for once hardly anything ended up on the floor, which is not the case in other restaurants.

Love this fish and chip shop. Always looks clean and is always busy. Fish is cooked well. Chip portions could be a bit larger, but they taste good, and they have the best curry sauce of any chippie I've been to. Lose a star cos i think they are a bit pricey, but given i live a fair few miles away from them and still visit must say something

wrote this in tripadvisor good and attentive service, but eating is just so cute order sirloin and ripening eye we ordered medium production, but they were all made moderate and well. the grown-ups returned their steaks when they were only too dry and chew. children were hungry, although good supplements, but no one can go wrong with speck right?

I went to dinner, although it was almost empty. the location looks good with a beautiful ambiente eating is overpriced compared to other steakhouses in the same opposite and the portion and quality of food. eating was of a moderate quality. my hamburger was like a stone, fully boiled, although I asked for a medium-heavy, rare money drop. I'm not back.

was not in a past with oliver’s, as we would move in completely opposite direction. the fate had us in the opposite, shortly before the conclusion and we decided to pay a visit. nice to see that the quality has not gone into the hill. best quality fish shares, great chips. fantastic customer service also. I would have written a photo, but I ate this before I remember!

we are here on 2017-5-4 with 3 people. on the outside it looks like a beautiful restaurant. man, what a mistake. we ordered the spare ribs. they want us to order everything extra, pommes, e.d. when they took the ribs, they throw them on the table because it was the only thing we ordered. you ripen where wet and almost half was white fat. we didn't eat it. when we ask for the bill, they were not even interested in why we did not eat it, we paid and left.

that is a terrible place to eat, my man came here and ordered a steak and baked kartoffel, the kartoffel was completely frozen in the middle. he only told the waiter to get an extremely rude attitude from the waiter when he asked for a new hot one. he finally brought another out, again it was frozen. he complained to the waiter again and he was not willing to get him a new hot. he then asked if he had removed it from his bill, as he had not eaten any of it (because it was cold and frozen) the waiter refused and said he could take care less when it was cold, he ordered it to pay. terrible disgusting service, don't waste your money here.

"Visited today for lunch and probably wouldn't rush back although I'm aware there's recently been a change in management so maybe a few teething troubles. Messaged via their Facebook page to book a table, no response. Never was a problem in the past. The pub was very cold with no heating at all so we had to keep our coats on. Several tables near us commented the same and all sat with coats on. The coffee machine was out of order so only instant available, which wasn't pleasant. We waited a long time for someone to come and take our food order, in the end I went and found someone. Two of us wanted the steak ale pie. Only then were we told it wasn't available. The chap said we should've been told when we were given the menus, well it was him that gave them to us! With that he said he'd give us a few minutes to choose something else and walked away. He didn't come back so I had to go and ask to place our order again. At no point did anyone ask if we had any food allergies, which I thought was a requirement these days? The food was really good, credit to the chef; it was well cooked, well presented, large portions and very tasty. We did notice that two other tables waited a very long time for their food and had to chase it up, so glad we ordered when we did. We would have stayed longer and had a dessert but it was so cold we couldn't relax and enjoy it. We were next to radiator and we did ask one of the waiters if it was possible to turn it on and he said he'd see what he could do, which was nothing as it remained stone cold! When our plates were taken we asked for the bill, but it didn't arrive. Eventually a young lady arrived with the card machine and asked us to pay, which we said we'd be delighted to do once we received our bill! When we left we walked past 3 different members of staff, all of whom had waited on our table at some point during our visit. Not one of them made an effort to say thank you or goodbye. There was no warm ambiance or friendly feeling in the pub, it felt cold (literally) and unwelcoming. I also felt that a couple of members of staff waiting on tables looked rather scruffy, none of them wore a logo'd t-shirt which I feel the staff should do as they're representing the pub or brewery. It was difficult to distinguish the staff from the customers!"
