"I stopped eating with my 5 year old daughter yesterday. the staff was friendly and helpful and although it was quite a lot to do, eating was served very quickly. my daughter is a very picky eater, but she ate most of her food and said she loved it. I had the fish cake, it was probably the best fish cake I ever had! not on all stingy on the king prawns in there either it was incredibly delicious! I will come back in definitiw. beautiful pub and beautiful atmosphere. x"

"Three dinners at Tresanton all exceptional. The menu is short but offers plenty of choice dishes rotate enough to remain interesting on consecutive nights. Highlights for us were the crab tian, arancini, all the fish (lemon sole, John Dory, the mackerel starter sea bass). And the young master says the duck was great too, so much so that I didn’t get a look in… Excellent wine list too refreshing to see such interesting whites, or so the old master says. He’s a sucker for Italian whites (from the Puglian Fiano to the Vernaccia) but also the Spanish (Albariño Gordello). My samples in the form of regular doggy boxes we’re all tip top, so thank you as ever to Jonathan, Paul and the whole team in this wonderful kitchen."

"Not massively impressed, my partner ordered additional items to his meal (which cost extra) which he didn’t receive, my meal unfortunately came out mostly cold so I ate half of it and left the remaining. For 2 meals and 2 drinks which came to over £50 I was very unsatisfied. I don’t like to complain as the staff may have been up against it and the fact it was raining may possibly have meant they waited to bring the food out which meant that’s why it was a bit cold? The staff themselves were lovely so couldn’t fault them but sadly we hoped for better and to receive what had been paid for. Price per person: £20–30 Food: 2 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Chips, Steak"

"Having been a regular customer for over a decade to The Bell Inn, I was left very underwhelmed this time. Room was lovely and clean as usual, Tom on reception was fab. We chose to dine in the restaurant as normal and booked for 730pm so we had a nice long evening to enjoy eating and drinking. The menu is now very limited compared to previous years, we chose to have 4 starters to share and some rose wine with bread to start. Slight delay on bread, which came crammed on a small plate, which we had to ask for side plates after waiting for the waitress to reappear…the oil and balsamic was awful, there was so much oil chucked in the ramekin we had to ask for another, to pour some off to try and get to the vinegar. Food came out, and was put on table, again had to ask for side plates as we were sharing and still had bread on the other ones. No drinks check. Had to wait at bar to order more. Food was mediocre at best, we both have very good appetites especially after the harbour walk and some wine! but both ended up just picking at it. Ended up going to room with our wine very early, the only other table in the restaurant that was occupied had some sort of problem ordering due to “fryers being turned off” and got sandwiches and chips instead! Slept well as usual. Went for a quick dog walk before breakfast and narrowly avoided being hit by the chef arriving at 845am in the car park. Arrived on time for breakfast at 9am, lovely, lovely waitress served us, ordered full English and pot of tea, partner the same with coffee. Took a sip of the tea and it was barely lukewarm… spoke to waitress who was very apologetic and bought me a fresh one, turns out the rest of the room all had the same problem with tea and coffee as the urn hadn’t been turned on in time see chef comment food came out and was delicious and hot, and top quality as usual, we cleared our plates! Room was spotlessly clean, and the Tyneham hand wash/cream is so good! Overall disappointing as I know how good this place can be, and the first time I’ve ever encountered any problems. As stated before it was not busy in the slightest compared to previous years, so no excuse really. I will return as The Bell holds dear memories for me, I hope next year it will have ironed out these problems and be back to full glory!"

"I'm connected to my partner-emni family here. they had warned, I am vegan with milk allergy and the immediately handed over the days vegan menu to his parents for me. when we got a menu there, have been revised and options added. I remember briefly before changing the menu, so it is seasonal and dependent in what they have in / can order. this is one of the only times I have ever had a three cure meal and enjoyed it. I had tempura veg with salad and sweet chili sauce for starter. dried petersnip, chili tomaten and rockkete risotto, who had tempura broccoli with him who was beautiful and a huge bowl! dessert was nice a kind of cheesecake, but they needed a chain saw to break it into pieces that they could eat. about all beautiful meals and will definitely visit in the future."

"absolutely delicious. we love this beautiful restaurant / teestube, the garden is with small secret places to sit and is so charming. after the visit we decided to order their shanklin cake. That's good, so fleshy. the prawn salad is incredible and the isle of wight tastes so fresh. I think you sticky toffee pudding might be the best I cost. the owner is charming and the staff so friendly. 10/10"

"After spending nearly an hour trying to find somewhere serving food before 6pm, we found this place. Absolutely lovely meal at The Three Pilchards this afternoon. Cider battered fish and chips were cooked beautifully and the eggs were possibly some of the best duck eggs I've ever had! Service was friendly and prompt with a nice atmosphere Will definitely return and would recommend 100"

"Interesting little outdoors eating place. I wish we had looked inside but the sunshine beckoned. The food was of excellent quality, Italian based, my Spaghetti Carbonara was tasty, and so much better than the heavy stodge I am used to in English restaurants. Now, the cuisine was definitely Italian, but we were served by a wonderful, good humoured, efficient and courteous Dutch girl. The staff were so friendly and efficient, despite being very busy. Just be aware, we dined outside under awnings, there was sunshine but the view was of the fence or a street. The car park was a little small, beware of the brambles! The quality of the food and the service made up for everything."

"We had a very attentive and helpful waitress who helped one of the parties that was the GF mixture and matched their meal. The bottle of wine we ordered was very good and reduced. We wanted coffee at the end of the evening meal, but at that time no hot drinks were available, so we asked for another glass of the same wine. The waitress thought it wasn't possible because it wasn't her standard bottle, but came back after talking to the manager who had agreed to open another bottle and realized that no hot drinks were available."

"We went to Bob Bob Ricard on 2nd of February. Everything was absolutely delicious. Firstly we order two different types of oysters, the natural oyster and the gratin with white sauce, cheese and truffles... then we order the tartare steak with caviar, and a salmon tartare. For the main course we order a lobster macaroni cheese and a chateaubriand. For the dessert a strawberries cream soufflé. 5* food quality, everything was delicious! We have an excellent service, the employees were all friendly, helpful and attentive. We absolutely recommend it!!! Congratulations"

"warm friendly welcome as soon as we get in the bar and a talk about the design beer. the menus came together with a part of sharing oliven. a beautiful selection of local products and seasonal vegetables. the selected fish dishes of the day with veg and selsey krabbengratin were delicious and perfectly portioned to have space for puddings. After we had eaten bananenparfait with honey and sticky toffee and an orange marmelade brooch and butter pudding, we already planned our next visit."

"just abysmal. Sunday lunch they would run out of frying dinner in the rest of the menu available. besides the first two items on the rather short menu were the Brat dinner. (roast bell of pork is not my idea of a roast in any...case) that does not leave much choice. my gammon, i and chips were just that. not even exhort. as mean! the gammon was so hard that he was almost unpredictable. it was also ridiculously superfluous. fish and chips were in order. sticky toffee puddings were in stone cold, barely out. their replacements were hardly in the inside, dense, chewing and dried and hard around the edges by reheating. it could have been as much as a spoon sauce above. they were also rejected. shockingly terrible. Barmaid/waitress was apologetic, but no offer made to reduce the bill. I've never been impressed by the food here, it's been mediocre for years. This is a pub that clearly focuses on its charming location and no effort in the direction of quality. it must be avoided."

"Visited the pub on the island for an early afternoon pint and maybe some food. Being the first pub we encountered on the island and advertised 3 beers on entering and approaching the bar the landlord just stood staring at us and said nothing. My husband asked what beers he was serving and was told only one beer available as he had been that busy. When we asked about food told no more orders. All tables had reserved signs so we asked if we could sit down and have a quick beer and he said no the pub was virtually empty buy we was advised it would be rammed in 10 minutes but, pointed in the direction of the beer garden. We found the landlord arrogant rude. At first we thought we had maybe looked at him in the wrong way but, then he spoke to the next customers in the same way. We had our drinks in the run down grassed area outside and left. Had two wonderful nights on the island and had all our drinks in the Crown Anchor delicious food, fabulous service, staff friendly and knowledgeable and couldn't do enough for you. We did not let the Shi? Experience ruin our time on the island, although we would suggest a possible rename of the Ship Inn to the Shi?? Inn you decide for yourself."

"we drove past and toured the beautiful little island gigha on a really warm, sunny day. late afternoon we noticed that the restaurant is still open and was asked if it was still served. Although it was well past the last orders, the owner invited us to take a place and bring menus. the food was absolutely delicious and good value. it was the icing on the cake of the island trip. I could not recommend the restaurant anymore."

"we arrived yesterday on 18th October 2017 with the family 7ppl without booking to the white eagle, we were greeted by a beautiful dame that made the place for us and we ordered our drinks and eat. when our food began to come out there was a stream cut, but came back, then it went off completely while we eat. the dame and a man came by and were very apologetic, but it was made for a past, but it never disturbed us how it was easy. eating was amazing and so are the employees. keep them the good work."

"We had a day out in Tiintagel on Sunday and decided to walk to the Castle and Merlin's cave on the beach. When we walked back up the killer hill we were starving and decided to pop to King Arthur's Arms Inn for a Sunday Roast. The choices were Pork or beef, both I'm not keen on so opted for the Veggie options. The nut roast was light and tasty and the beef looked lean. Both of us had roast potatoes and vegetables plus the delicious Yorkshire pudding. Lots of gravy was offered to us. The food was excellent for the price. It's not high brow, but just a pub grub lunch. It filled us up and that was the idea. I only gave 4 stars as no one wore a mask but there were many people in the pub. I felt as though I was put in a vulnerable position. We ate and left as soon as we could."

"This was our 2nd time eating in the crab shack, we booked at the beginning of the week to ensure we got a table and took the kids for an experience and the food, the staff are lovely the food is awesome, lovely place to eat however this time was a bit disappointing , asked for a beer of the menu, not available, no oysters, no mussels, no clams completely understand seafood is all seasonal so no drama, we opted to share a hot platter, (as this came with a whole lobster plus extras for only an extra £10 vs the cost of a lobster) and told they would swap the mussels and clams for extra something else as didn’t have these items. It came out with half a lobster plus the other bits promised we queried this we where told that sometimes the chef will give you a big half by weight rather than whole lobster I have never heard of this and felt more upset we where then just being lied to the table opposite also had ordered the lobster and they received whole one so I guess this must have been a small one!? They also told us we are not really telling people to order the hot platter as we don’t have much of it to which we replied this would have been nice to know when you took are order, they offered 20% off, which we agreed to even though being sat by a sign that said whole lobster £120 meaning a missing half should £60?! So I wanted to leave 2.5 stars, but don’t worry these are really big starts , like bright and weighty ones it’s basically a 5 star review?! Right?!"

"beautiful old world charme pub, menu is great, so much I could have chosen. the place was packed on Sunday in bank holidays, the beer garden is huge, but not many empty spaces, we ordered food, but it was said that it took hours and half, it actually took no more than 45 minutes. When it arrived, it was great. a special mention must go to the young man with ginger hair, his customer service was exemplary and if I had the opportunity to poke him for my own firma, I would also. a young girl who ran around like the young to satisfy all customers, with taking the order number 19, who was an important problem that was created by customers, not to listen to this pub."
