"Since the well-run and ever better informed diners of london visit the market for authenticity, it is interesting to see how the restaurant of the middle market Indian' is coming. where I come from, no single Indian restaurant is operated by a person who has ever been in india (the family behind the taj mahal originates from karachi, and the man who promises a taste of india, hails from chittagong.) but in the city london and in countless suburbs, we have come to accept, embrace and always ask we go for a curry' instantly connotable asses of mild deception, civil and frivole entertainment and feel very full with delicious meat and fat. and there is always this beautiful moment when they serve them a laminated menu of frozen desserts in a plastic penuin that they would have rejected, even if they were not too full again because it is a disturbing picture. sripur is close to my office, zomato informed me, so I led us there about a precurry doombar in the cheshire Cheese./ and yes, in the old of dishoom, food trucks and Michelin-starred curry kitchen, the mid-market curry house of the city is alive and well. / I say the medium market because for two of us, with a poppadom, a tandoori mixed grill everyone, say chana, roti and naan, plus two large kingfishers each, the bill came to £60. < br>/ but it was great. not spectacular, but the mixed grill was exactly what they want to stand at this price point among these. the keema was substantial, the fehde. the naans were a bit thin and crispy for my personal taste, but they said and channa were both deliciously fed. and kingfisher is kingfisher a sin qua non of a good (british) curry experience./ was sripur as location service is friendly enough, efficient and uninvasive. it is mainly colonized by some men in suits. not the loud, obnoxic art, but a smashing, something behind their best gray-handed-the-ears chaps with loose ties and the intention of a £40 taxi house in front of them. / could have had another curry for it."

"On the 170m walk up Brick Lane from the Premier Hub, this critically acclaimed restaurant was the only curry house not to harass me to eat, convincing me that passing the other 22 curry houses was worth it. Was it? The window is adorned with reviews like a heavyweight boxer’s trophy room (See images) with the diners inside tucking in , but is it really The King of Brick Lane”? They have a dedicated vegan menu (1st in Brick Lane) with a mix of traditional vegan specialties and plenty of plant based meat substitute dishes too (see menu) with a Bangladeshi Indian influence. [hidden link] A good measure of a older style trad restaurant is the Thali and it was up there with the best of the best. I’ve read why folk want it to be 5 stars and I couldn’t agree more on flavour alone. Shahi Sahakari Thali £18.95 Shahi Sahakari loosely translates as The vegan king . A thali style platter containing a mixture of uribeeshi biran, bombay aloo, begun daal gatta, chowle achar, chappati and rice… The Bombay Aloo had a warming comforting flavour and the potatoes intact but fluffy and soft. The Begun Daal Gatta was a stunning dish of lentils and aubergine (begun) garnished with a fine selection of herbs. This medium spiced curry really did wow me and I’d like it as a main. The Uribeeshi Biran is the beans of a a runnerbean (uribeeshi) which have been fried (biran) with onions and a blend of spices. The beans have bite and work well with the rice although drier than I’d imagined. The Chowle Achar was a surprise as it’s not listed on the Thali menu! The kabali chickpeas are pan cooked with mixed garlic, ginger, punch poron and blended with spread pickle, accompanied by a delicious thin sauce. They were cooked to perfection and with the chapati were second only to the daal as my favourite. The rice and chapati were nice but I had to order an extra chapati so I could ensure every bowl was wiped clean and finished. Not a morsel left. If I’m to be critical, it was expensive and I’d have preferred the Thali on a Thali plate with a little more rice and 2 chapatis, but I couldn’t fault the cooking."

"My long awaited visit to Ravishankar restaurant on Drummond Street in London with my family turned out to be disappointing. The restaurant was empty on a Monday afternoon, and the sole waiter 's rudeness and lack of hospitality ruined our dining experience. To my dismay, I later found similar negative reviews online, indicating recurring service issues at the restaurant. I had been eagerly planning a visit to Ravishankar restaurant on Drummond Street in London since morning, as I wanted to make my parents feel at home during their visit to London. Being an Indian, I was hopeful that we could enjoy some delicious Indian cuisine together and create wonderful memories. However, our experience at the restaurant turned out to be quite disappointing. Despite our excitement, the restaurant was totally empty on a Monday afternoon, and there was only one waiter present. He greeted us in a disheartening manner by carelessly throwing the napkins on the table instead of placing them nicely. When I politely addressed the issue, he responded with rudeness, refusing to serve us and raising his voice. What puzzled us the most was the waiter 's inexplicable comment, This is not India, I will not serve you. It was a completely inappropriate response that left us questioning what point he was trying to make. Regardless of cultural differences or location, a restaurant should always strive to provide excellent service and treat all customers with respect and hospitality. To my dismay, upon returning home, I decided to check online reviews and discovered that multiple people had experienced similar service issues at Ravishankar restaurant. One person shared a similar rude encounter during the evening hours, which indicates a recurring problem with the restaurant 's service. It is disheartening to witness that such negative experiences are not isolated incidents but rather a pattern. As someone who was looking forward to having a pleasant dining experience with family, it 's deeply concerning to see that other patrons have also faced the same treatment. I hope this review serves as an alert to the owner/management about the ongoing service problems at Ravishankar restaurant. Every customer deserves to be treated with respect and hospitality, regardless of the time of day or the number of diners present. Improving the quality of service should be a top priority to ensure a positive dining experience for all guests and to restore the restaurant 's reputation for authentic Indian cuisine and warm hospitality."
