"Went to celebrate my friends birthday. There were quite a lot of us and to make it easier, we sent our menu choices ahead of the meal. I went here quire a few years ago and it was very nice. In the past year or so it always looked quiet but has recently picked up and the reviews are good. Plus it seems to have had a bit of a makeover. All I can say is the service was excellent. They handled the large group of us brilliantly. Staff were extremely friendly. We all enjoyed our food. It seems to have more flavour than other Asian places. I loved my meal, but one person had the fish starter. I tried it and tbh it was one of the nicest dishes I have ever had. I will return again soon. Also the portion sizes are good and it seems to be good value as well. Well done. We all had a great time."

We visited on Saturday 5 September and had a lovely meal. The fish curries are excellent. A little bit different to the usual Indian restaurants and all the better because of it the best Indian food in the area (Lily's in Ashton being a close second).

I went to this restaurant tonight with my father and we had a fantastic meal with excellent service! I would definitely come back again. I ordered a lamb dish that was cooked perfectly, and my father had beef. We also shared a delicious chicken and rice dish.

Highly recommended, brilliant service by Josh and his colleague. Deserves 10 stars but system only allows me to give 5 stars Clean environment with polite staffs. Food was delicious and reasonably priced. Keep it up. Thanks for joining us in cake cutting ceremony. View menu

Our first post lockdown meal and we visited our old friends at Sindoor in Whitefield. Ok, let’s temper everything! First meal out so probably going to be biased! No, the coconut dry beef, the prawn and chicken curries were outstanding! If you like authentic Indian food and in particular Southern Indian cuisine, Sindoor is a must! I have travelled India and this is the closest you will get! Service was fantastic!

It was Eid, and we called up the previous day and asked if they could do a special takeaway order for lunch for a group of 8, and they agreed even though they are not normally open for lunch. We ordered lamb biryani, chicken biryani, pomfret pollichathu, chicken 65 and beef coconut fry. The service was amazing when we went to pick up the food, and the food tasted great too liked everything we ordered and truly made our Eid memorable. Thanks guys will drop by whenever we are in M'cr next. View menu

Have eaten at the restaurant and enjoyed it but this timer ordered a take away via Uber eats . Food arrived piping hot in good time however the onion Bhajis were soggy and and quite spicy. I had a Malabar lamb curry which came in a tasty rich sauce but the lamb was rubbery with a not so nice taste. My wife had a Kumarakom Fish curry which was very thin and watery . She ate the fish but very little of the sauce. Both meals came with large portions of pilau rice and we had an ok peshwari Nan . Very disappointed hence the poor rating . Maybe hopefully they had a one off bad night.

The Sindhoor restaurant has reopened under new ownership and has been redecorated to create a pleasant dining experience. The food is still amazing as they have retained the original chef who specializes in authentic South Indian cuisine. I enjoyed a crispy cauliflower starter and a delicious fish dish served in a banana leaf, while my partner had a chicken starter and her favorite dosa – a crispy pancake filled with a sumptuous filling. We paired our meal with a bottle of Chardonnay and a pint of Cobra beer, all for under 60 pounds. For fans of the old Sindhoor, they now offer new street food dishes and main courses as well. We will definitely be returning soon.

"Well, it 's been a while since I 've reviewed a place but this little gem has certainly reawakened my vigour for it. Visited this evening as a kind of belated birthday celebration with my husband and son and very glad we did indeed. We happened upon this place a few weeks back (passing by and grabbing a cocktail after the days plans fell through and instantly took to the place and it 's wonderful staff and from the off had intentions to visit again an so finally did tonight), within seconds of seating ourself at the bar we were remembered by the owners, which to me shows great calibre on the customer service front. As someone with an exceptionally sweet tooth when it comes to alcohol it was our lucky day to find they had cocktails on 2for£10 and hell can the owner Jo mix like a minx (even doing us an off menu blend to account for tastes). The husband not being a big drinker happily sat at the bar chatting with staff and customers nursing his Peroni whilst me and my son dived headlong into the extensive classical and modern mixed cocktail list. Having been lured into great expectations (previously sampling delicious tasters) from Jo 's lovely husband Dave on our first brief visit we were definitely eagerly placed to dive into dinner tonight. Our lovely waitress Sian, stood patiently while we chopped and changed idea 's and orders, laughed with us, checked regularly everything was to our tastes as did the other young waitress that dropped drinks over to us. Both girls portraying the perfect mix of friendly and professional, a refreshing change to be served by people that clearly enjoy their working environment. And on to the food... we started with olives (and boy was it a substantial portion in comparison with some establishments weak efforts), hubby was first in there, impressed with the quality of marinade (too many places these days forget the little efforts like this thinking folk can 't differentiate something tipped out of a supermarket packet). After much debate (I had my eye on far too many dishes) choices were made, Hubby had the Filo Kefta, which had a light pastry, adequate spice and smoothly complimentary dip, for main he went with the day 's Special of Lamb with fondant potato, heritage carrots and a divinely velvety Jus which he thoroughly enjoyed (and he 's hard to please, being well versed himself and making a point of getting the lovely Chef Darren a glass of wine in appreciation). The lad had a Sirloin steak burger cooked medium rare and is now demanding we visit again soon. lol I went with the Gravlax to start, instantly aware of the clean flavour from its curing cutting through (I even brought a titbit home for my kitty to enjoy), as for main, I 'd initially had my mind on fish but upon discovering the owner Jo was also a blue steak lover I had to try one there and wow they really take care in choosing their suppliers because that was an A grade cut of meat, even my son (who prefers medium-rare) upon trying a slice said it was an exceptional piece of meat I had it with asparagus, no sauce and swapped out the chips for a feta/pepper bowl which worked perfectly as did the glass of Shiraz that Jo picked out to compliment it for me. Genuinely I can not pick fault (read through my other reviews I write honestly, pick fault where warranted and compliment where due). Had this lovely little find been in our usual local it would surely become a regular haunt ours for sure. I would 100% recommend this place and extend our gratitude to all the staff for making our entire visit memorable and perfect."

"We were in Bury for a few days visiting family and the weather was beautiful , we live on the Wirral and frequently visit Brasco lounge in Liverpool of the same chain , which we love. We actually visited Racconto lounge 3 times on our visit , first time we had a brunch of bacon and egg muffin , which we really enjoyed (although the bacon was very salty) The next day we came back and had a lounge breakfast , and the following day we brought my husbands mum , and drank cups of tea while resting from shopping . We enjoyed all the meals , and its lovely inside , although we ate on the terrace in the sunshine and we found all the staff very pleasant and friendly . But..... we had 2 things let it down for us . Firstly on each occasion , the service was extremely slow, when we had breakfast , it wasn't very busy , but we waited ages , although our tea was brought out well before the food , meaning we then had no drinks to go with the food . The second problem was , after waiting ages , we had to send the breakfast back as it was really cold , and it seemed like it had been sat waiting , almost as long as we had , the bacon on both the breakfast muffin and the breakfast was really , really salty also. None of this would put us off , as we enjoyed the dining experience overall , but if you are in a rush , i really wouldn't recommend eating here , as the wait was alot longer than expected every time ."
