Savory ground meat topped with creamy mashed potatoes, baked until golden.

"The restaurant is in a hotel and did not look like the photos. It was nonetheless quite nice (we went to the bar area as the traditional restaurant looked very much like a typical hotel restaurant). The staff were friendly and knowledgeable and the food was good (burgers pasta). It was a little on the pricey side but not too bad and really nice quality. The wines were very expensive with the house bottles being at £37.50. The house white was particularly nice though. We shared a large tasty cheese cake. I'm not sure I would go there again because I have travelled a lot and try and avoid hotels but it is a good place."

"We had a wonderful experience at the private gingerbread cabin! The cabin was beautifully crafted and the food was incredibly delicious. We felt very spoiled by the outstanding service we received from Vivien."

"Who knew there was an outdoor ski lodge just behind the British Museum?? The Montague had done a fantastic job of recreating a covered bar and informal dining area in their patio area and it was great fun! The menu set up was different to what was described on TT there was no set price anything which made it more expensive than expected but also more flexible as two of our group ended up not drinking. The two choices of fondue were delicious and the tasting platter looked amazing. Service was really friendlyalthough there were times when the bar was unattended so we had to wait for more drinks etc but that was minor as the staff had really got into the spirit and made it a really great experience. I'll definitely be returning next year"

"Delicious food and drinks. The service was relatively fast. My favourite dish was the Pan fried Halibut in the rich shellfish sauce. Not only was it presented beautifully, but the taste and texture also matched my expectations. The hispi cabbage and the rich broth like sauce complemented well with the halibut which was cooked to a perfect tenderness. The 12 hr Braised Beef tasted good, though it was slightly overcooked, making the meat a little drier chewier to my liking. It's rather like a Sunday roast too! The traditional Beer Battered Fish and Chips in the pub did not let me down. This piece of cod was meaty and succulent with a nice crispy batter crust. Oh, and the lovely chunky chips fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside. I guess the most mediocre dish was the Mussels, Cockles and Clams. First of all, the shellfish were not cleaned properly, there were still traces of sand and beard in the mussels. Not great. The taste was fairly decent though the shellfish lacks flavour on its own without the sauce . The upside is that it was served with chips so we didn't have to order an extra side. Their chips were great! Overall, we were glad that we got a table relatively quickly considering we didn't make a reservation. The service was friendly and quick, but the only hiccup was that the waiter got our bill mixed up with another table. A much bigger table that's not even close to us...and when I pointed out his mistake, he was a little defensive at first, saying 'No, it's not wrong'. However, he quickly apologised when he realised he was actually wrong. Because of this and the average shellfish dish, I had to knock a star off."

"The food was average, the service was okay, and the atmosphere was lacking due to COVID-19 restrictions which seemed to be an excuse to provide minimal effort. We may not come back as our reservation was for 7:45 pm, but due to COVID-19 restrictions starting at 6:00 pm, we had to dine earlier. We only found out about the change in dining time when we called the restaurant, as they did not contact us beforehand. While we are trying to support businesses during this time, it is disheartening when a restaurant seems more focused on doing the bare minimum."

"This unique hotel has a pub attached to it. The rooms are fantastic, with a country house vibe, featuring large four poster beds and full, ornate furniture. The whiskey bar on the ground floor was incredible, and the bar manager was very knowledgeable about whiskey. While the food (for both dinner and breakfast) was good, the service was a bit lacking; there were no teaspoons or sugar on the table, they served chips instead of fries, and some steaks were delivered to the wrong people, making it seem a bit disorganised. However, the hotel is in a great location for a whisky tour or a walking tour. The pub downstairs was also lovely, with a mix of locals and guests."

"Everything was OK but it was a pity we felt so rushed. It's hard to relax and enjoy what one goes to a restaurant for the food, wine and a friend's or friends' company. We were continually asked how we were 'doing'', usually in the middle of a conversation. This became intrusive and irritating. One of the golden rules of good service is that a waiter waits for the appropriate moment to ask if everything is all right if he must. Even when it's done with discretion, I find the habit obtrusive. A good waiter or maitre d' should be able to gauge whether customers are happy and being well looked after without having to constantly ask for confirmation like a needy lover. That said, it was clear that the staff were under pressure to conform to Covid rules and cope with the approaching lockdown. In the circumstances they coped very well. As our last hoorah before a month's lockdown however, our dinner was disappointing and depressingly average. None of this would make me not recommend The Ivy Chelsea Garden. It's a lovely restaurant"

"Food was okay. Maybe slightly pricey if I were paying full price but ok. What was really bad and left a bad taste was how badly we were treated. We live literally steps from this place and have known it since it started and the one before it. We asked and got confirmation of govt scheme before sitting down to eat and before ordering. In the end full bill was given and we had to argue and convince before they reduced price on meal. They still did not do on soft drink. They were so unhappy to give us a discount which they had a huge poster of in front. It left such a bad taste 2 hours later I ate frozen (after cooking) Sainsbury pizza just to get over that feeling. Will be very hard to go in again. Hopefully it closes and someone else comes"

"to come back soon. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, the service was friendly and attentive, and the food was absolutely delicious. We tried a variety of dishes and each one was bursting with flavor. The restaurant had a great selection of wines and cocktails as well. Overall, we had a fantastic dining experience and would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great meal in a charming setting. Can't wait to dine here again!"

"I actually attended on the Friday for evening dinner. We were suppose to have gone again on the Sunday afternoon. But decided to give it a miss. I was not as impressed as I once was with this place. I have been here a few times and have enjoyed. But this time I did not enjoy the meal. Some of it was cold. I ordered Irish coffee. They got sent back times. First ones never looked right. Second one very cold. Third time was fine. Even the cheese board was very minimal."

"The place was nice and we was seated at our table, we had to ask for a Drinks Menu. We ordered our meals, starters and mains, the starters were nice apart from the scotch egg which had no runny egg( but was told beforehand that this was down to the bird flu) we ordered the OX cheek, 2 Wagu burgers and a fillet steak.. the ox cheek was very nice.. however the 2 wagu burgers, we wasn't even asked how we would like these before ordering and to come out and they were both burnt!.. The fillet steak was ok, but the meat had been cut in half to see if they had cooked it correct..the only reason we didn't complain is that we were receiving the food at 50%... the service wasnt the best.. TBH I dont normally write reveiws but Felt I had to on this occasion"

"Not only is this lovely little bar next to my work. I also get a pretty little 15% discount!I came here on the Friday before my birthday- so I have to say it was a pretty cheap do anyway, what with all the kindly offers of birthday drinks. I love the outside space here, on a nice day Paternoster Square is absolutely the place to be, thankfully we got a good day. I'd love to have a go at some of the food here as it sounds delightful, but alas there were pavements to pound and more bars to drink at so we didn't stay long enough for food. I'll definitely be heading back here though as the relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff make it the ideal place to wind down after the working week."

"As it was the lunchtime before Easter break, the service was rather slow. Took roughly 25 minutes for our food to arrive..but there was good service and the food was tasty, delicious crispy chips and generous chicken ciabatta. will be coming back as I work nearby."

"The shepherd's pie was quite flavorful, but it could have benefited from some green vegetables instead of just sweet carrots and swedes. Having a small jug of gravy on the side would have also been a nice touch. The fish and chips were just average; there was too much batter and not enough fish, and the peas could have been better. However, the chunky chips were enjoyable. The kids opted for a selection from the small plates, and those were satisfactory. Overall, the experience was decent, but a bit pricey for what we received. Additionally, it would be great to see more fish and vegan options, as I'm not sure why the restaurant labels itself as vegan with only one or two choices available."

"We were here spontaneously on Sundays to brunch can only recommend it. The staff were very friendly have good recommendations. The restaurant itself is nicely furnished you sit comfortably. Drinking food is great. Mineral water is very good from Ireland (was not everywhere so). The coffee (Americano flat White) were good. The food we ordered, the Eggs Benedict and the French Toast were very well made and very tasty. Also the toilets were clean, even if only accessible via a staircase. All in all clear recommendation. The next visit to Dublin will be back!"

"An excellent traditional restaurant that is a delight to visit. The tables are beautifully set with linen tablecloths and napkins, and even hand towels are provided in the restrooms. The service is friendly and attentive without being intrusive. However, the highlight of the visit is undoubtedly the food. We opted for the Friday night menu, where each dish offered a unique twist on the usual selections. All the appetizers we tried were outstanding. For the main course, I particularly enjoyed the mercer pie, which featured a flavorful combination of steak and mushrooms encased in a delicate pancake, served alongside roasted potatoes and baby carrots. Two of us chose hot desserts, while the two gentlemen at our table were too full and instead decided to go for ice cream. We shared a bottle of Prosecco and one of Malbec among the four of us, and our total came to £28, plus service."

"My Husband ordered a farmhouse breakfast but the sausages were not cooked properly, the waitress came and took the sausages ,replaced and was apologetic which we appreciated but still added service charge to bill which we thought was really poor ,especially as we had bad experience with the food. We paid the service charge but will not be returning."

"This restaurant is not worth the hype or the high prices. Our table was unfortunately located next to the cooking area, resulting in strong and overpowering cooking smells. The shared Indian platter we ordered as a starter was disappointingly deep fried, greasy, and tasted like it had been frozen. The naan bread and rice were the only saving grace. The Chicken Makhani dish lacked flavor and tasted like canned tomato soup, and was lacking in spice. At £24 per serving, it was definitely not worth the cost."
