"overall very good. all the right boxes except the fact that when we arrived, we had to wait 10-15 minutes to take a place. but it was very busy! Apart from that everything was on the spot, but a few times the waiter service was something under par (at one point someone else was bought on our table, and we had to ask for a dessert menu because the waiter had missed our table). no big problem, but eating was great and the atmosphere was good because it was busy and full. we paid for three courses pp, a bottle of wine and additonal drinks and it came around £35 a head that contains the 10 percent tip. I recommend the filet steak despite its light...read more"

"Got told about this ‘fine dining experience’ whilst staying at the hotel so had to give it a go. Took us 5 minutes to be acknowledged even when there were 4 staff at the bar talking to each other. Had to take my name and room number before we were allowed to be seated? Sat down and told someone would be with us to take our drinks order. 10 minutes the same guy arrives and takes our drink order. 5 minutes later returns saying the gas had gone so couldn’t have what I wanted. 10 minutes later drinks arrive and get told someone would take our food order. 15 minutes later the same guy checks back to see if we’ve ordered- we hadn’t- as we start to order two of the items not available. Decided that it probably wasn’t the best place to dine and paid for the drinks and left, no apology only a ‘try the pub they serve all night’. Went to the pub section of the hotel to find they’d stopped service! Service is insane no communication, constantly ignored and staff who haven’t got a clue what they’re doing! Thank god for justeat."

"This is not a glamorous restaurant it is a small, family run affair, a bit too brightly lit and in need of a few decorative flourishes, but the reviews are so good because despite the less than perfect surrounding the food is genuinely outstanding....I have eaten a lot of Greek food in Athens and the Islands, have many Greek friends and have visited the country over times. This food is exactly like what I have eaten there and in my friends homes. Tasty, rich without being overbearing, comforting, not greasy and totally fresh: and perfectly cooked. It's also reasonably priced. In my opinion it is much better than many way more expensive and celebrated Greek restaurants that serve greasy and tasteless Greek specialities I took my partner and our two kids and they all loved it. We had perfect deep fried calamari that is possibly the best I've ever had thick rings, fresh and tasty, just the right amount of light batter not those stringy thin frozen things sold in most places; spanakopita (spinach and feta fried pies) that were the perfect consistency and ratio of cheese to spinach; taramasalata that was not too creamy (but perhaps could have had a bit more lemon) and then the mains! A delicious chicken souvlaki and whole seabass, both grilled perfectly plainly fresh as can be and delicately seasoned; and a vegetarian Moussaka that was so authentic it took me right back to Greece, again, avoiding the over-greasy bland offerings of so many Greek places light, fluffy and gorgeous. All in all the meal was excellent I took what we didn't eat home and we had a second dinner tonight and it was just as good second time. I highly recommend this restaurant and have only not given it stars because, quite easily, they could make some significant improvements to the interior (dim the lighting for one) and possibly improve the wine list a little. But for Greek food I now know where I am going, everytime. I should point out that this is the first time I've been moved to write a review.."

"A must visit. Turned up here late evening for dinner while we stayed in Crawley and we really enjoyed it. The curry was delicious. The Orzo salad was so nice that I’ve started to make it at home once a week. The Iskender probably needs some adjustments but I’ve had Iskender in the past in Turkey so of course the vegan version will not be the same. The home made cheesecake is by far the nicest cheesecake (vegan or non vegan) I’ve ever had. Will definitely come back to try more dishes!"

"Our first time here. Found the place as my 3 year old wanted to eat some paste (later opted for pizza instead). Ordered pasta with chili tomato sauce and ham and cheese pizza for the little one. The food was amazing and at a good price. Good service too. We'll definitely be back again. Highly recommended"

"I'd recommend that if you're going to check out Di Maggio's in Glasgow for an evening meal to eat out at the Di Maggio's at the Royal Exchange Square as it's more pleasant with nicer interior decor. If you're looking for something more casual this Di Maggio's has something to offer too. Our server here was a bit dull, but hospital enough. The spaghetti Carbonara is always an excellent choice. I really can't complain."

"The customer service at this restaurant is outstanding, and the food is incredibly delicious. Dinno and his team consistently provide a warm and welcoming atmosphere. It's a wonderful spot to unwind with family and friends. Ian and Emma are always around to share a laugh. Keep up the fantastic service! Food: 5/5, Service: 5/5, Atmosphere: 5/5."

"We popped in without a booking on a Sunday night after a long drive and were met with such fantastic service. Our waiter Blair was soo friendly, made some great recommendations and made us laugh a lot! The frito misto was a great starter, huge fresh bits of fresh and a delicious garlic and parsley sauce. We also ordered the asparagus with pancetta which was so nicely done with another great sauce. The fresh pasta dishes were phenomenal! Between our table we ordered the slow cooked beef and tuscan sausage ragu which had so much tender meat and a delicious rich sauce, the rigatoni sinatra (crumbled italian sausages with loads of roasted peppers and chilli in a tomato sauce) and the fettuccine pollo piccante which was my favourite. This was spicy chicken in a creamy parmesan sauce with a right kick of chilli! For a complete accidental find we had such a great meal and would definitely come back if we were travelling down to Glasgow from the Highlands again!"

"this place was packed, which was a good sign. the staff was very friendly and helpful. our table was unfortunately under a bright light and someone could not be on the head as she wanted the house to be lighter as they were up and down the whole time, which was annoying. the mozzarella sticks starter with minze and pfeffer were huge with a beautiful crab. the tomate and basil bruschetta is probably one of the worst I had. I like the fresh Italian classic, crispy grilled brot, cool sweet tomato and tangy basilikum. nick’s served piercing hot squidgy tomaten on a very soft and dry halfbap with no crispy texture at all and sprayed with balsamika whether they want it or not. "This was our first visit to Brixton and admittedly, we were lucky to get a table at all in this cafe, and what a pleasant surprise. They are of the ‘we will find you a seat, leave it with us’ school of thought and on a busy Saturday, they squeezed us into a tiny space but quickly moved us onto a roomier table when one became available. They blinked twice when I said I didn’t want the bagel under my Eggs Benedict was I sure? but then, with a Southern European shrug, their body language suggested the crazy woman could have what the crazy woman wanted. And delicious it was. My husband and son were very happy with their meals too, so from our seats looking onto a neighbouring shop lush with healthy plants, we felt we were in the Med delightful. It took quite a long time to get our coffees, but it was about 3pm by then and I think their energies were on the decline. We will be back."

"With no water in our village due to an accident and damaged pipeline, cooking at home wasn't so appealing so we headed off to our favourite bar and restaurant, the Corner House. The place was busy and technically full as many people had the same idea, but the staff rallied round to make room for us and despite them being run off their feet, the food and service was still absolutely fantastic. Congratulations to Luke and the rest of the staff, you really pulled it out of the bag... and this is exactly why we go back there time and time again. We couldn't recommend it more, 5 stars every time."

"first visit to pure cyprus. it was very quiet when we arrived, but gradually filled up. in a side street and found out only by tripadvisor. we had the meze for two plus a starter and a leading role. the whole food was well prepared and delicious. the house wine was excellent. service was good, but not pushy and we were not rushed with our meal. too much to eat so that they gave us container to take the rest home. would definitely visit again if in the opposite and would recommend family and friends"

"I recently had a wonderful dining experience at The Sally, located in the charming village of Irthington. The sea bass dish I ordered, paired with a crisp white wine, was a culinary masterpiece that perfectly matched the serene atmosphere of this lovely pub. The chef's skill and dedication were evident in each flavorful bite, and the white wine added a touch of elegance to the meal. The inviting ambiance of The Sally, with its friendly staff and bustling yet welcoming atmosphere, made for a truly delightful dining experience. This establishment not only offers exquisite food, but also fosters a sense of community that sets it apart from other dining spots in the area. The Sally is a hidden gem in a quiet village, offering exceptional food and a warm atmosphere that make it a must-visit for anyone looking for a memorable dining experience in rural North Cumbria. Highly recommended."

"Had not been to Prezzo for a while and the quality of the meals has clearly declined, or maybe I just chose poorly. Ordered the Crab Lobster Ravioli, which sounded brilliant in the menu: Handmade ravioli generously filled with crab and lobster. Served in a velvety tomato lobster bisque, spinach and a handful of chives That generously filled part was a lie. The ravioli were flat. And look, I know crab and lobster ain 't cheap, I was expecting a hint of them, but still, how difficult is to mince courgettes/leeks/celery/shallots, reduce them in seafood stock so they infuse, and then mix them with the tiny bit of lobster/crab so at least the pasta looks like proper ravioli and not like pancakes? And the velvety tomato lobster bisque ? It 's just creamy tomato sauce. That 's it. It was SO disappointing. Still, it was warm, it tasted ok, and the service was absolutely lovely; so it will do in a pinch. I just need to remember to order pizza or Alfredo next time."

"My husband and I were heading to Bathgate on Friday night for a show and looking for somewhere close by to eat beforehand, after a quick google search Chenzo's appeared as an option, reading the reviews etc we went ahead and booked and we are so glad we did! The reviews certainly live up to expectations. The owner and his wife were lovely and very attentive, with the time we arrived we were the only table in the restaurant but the atmosphere was so nice that didn't bother us. The food was amazing! We really should have stopped after our starter and main but the thought of delicious homemade dessert left us no option but to try I am so glad we did! We left absolutely stuffed but it was worth it when the food tasted as good as it did authentic homemade Italian cuisine that we will definitely consider making the 40 minute trip back to Uphall for again!"

"We visited Sophias to celebrate our friends 38th wedding anniversary on Thursday. The venue is clean and the decor reflects the ambience they are trying to create. We ordered from a very friendly and helpful waitress 3 of 'Sophias Mushrooms ' and one lamb Souvlaki. The food was presented well and tasted lovely however I would suggest that the quantity of mushrooms be increased by at least a couple as the mushrooms had all long gone while I was still enjoying the Souvlaki. Mains were Steak Diane, Fillet steak, Cod, and the Pork all cooked to perfection and in quantities that compensated for the smaller starters. Excellent! We all had a desert and the two chocolate mousse was divine, the Creme brulee went down well, the chocolate brownie? is unlikley to be a repeat for the recipient but the cheeseboard for two was outstanding! Service was good throughout. The only lost star is because we were the only diners in at the time which is a shame as it does reduce the ambience and atmosphere. On a plus side we could all hear each other! We will be back again and hope to see others enjoying the food as well."

"I visited this restaurant twice during my trip to St Andrews in search of affordable vegetarian options. The service was excellent both times. The first time we went, it was quiet around 7pm and we were able to watch our pizzas being baked in the open plan kitchen. The second night, we were a large party of 40 but they still served us relatively quickly and got all of our complicated orders correct. The stuffed mushrooms were delicious, a bit dry with the breadcrumbs but still good, and the pasta dishes were huge with just the right amount of spice. The menu offered a great selection of food at student-friendly prices, slightly more upscale than other Italian restaurants but definitely worth it!"
