"I visited for late lunch. It was though they didn’t want the business. No greeting just blurted out, no hot food. I Asked for a sandwich. Nope couldn’t do that either only coffee and cake. A Scone? Yes. Great. Unfortunately it arrived cold, yesterdays bake , hard and crusty butter tasted as though it was past its sell by date too . The original lady that owned Angel Cafe was brilliant. Tables fully wiped and clean. A warm welcome and appreciated the business. Excellent quality food . Current owner please note .. lack of customer service, grubby half wiped tables, stale scones. No I definitely won’t be returning .."

Lovely little cafe, great food and friendly staff, and all very clean! The scotch egg was delicious as the quiche!

We recently had a socially distant supper which included The Angel's fabulous burgers. They were scrumptious. And ready on time. Fantastic value for money Thank you Angel and we are looking forward to you being open more.

A bit out of the way but this friendly eatery is worth a visit. Both indoor and outdoor seating but the kitchen closes at 2 and the cafe at 3 so be aware if visiting. Nice atmosphere and quirky decor added to the enjoyment.

Had a 'Blue Burger ' as a lockdown takeaway which my wife and I had been looking forward to for a number weeks. We were not disappointed. The burgers were extremely generous and very tasty. The home made Cole slaw was a great side dish. Definitely going back for more.

Popped in for breakfast while girlfriend was wedding dress shopping. Very friendly welcome, cosy and warm. Obviously popular with locals. Had the big breakfast and couldn't fault it, everything cooked to perfection and 3 cups of tea in the pot! I know where i will be coming to eat in Diss in the future.

I normally go to the Angel Cafe as a stopping off point when I am cycling with friends but went there earlier this week with my dearly beloved for lunch. And again the service and food was excellent! They really are a nice bunch of folk who deserve to do well. Keep up the good work and keep doing what you are doing because it works!

Having gunned it down Low Road to arrive at Angel Cafe (Palgrave/Diss) just a few minutes before they were about to close, I wasn 't sure what the welcome would be. They were amazing, Have whatever you like and sit as long as you like, you enjoy your cup of tea Earl Grey tea with a slice of delicious Bakewell tart that was fresh from the oven. Happy Days

While helping a friend move house we stopped on 2 consecutive days for breakfast and boy, were we glad we did. Charming staff, friendly, attentive and super efficient. The food was AMAZING. Just super impressed. Quite possibly the best breakfast stop we've ever made. Once our friends are settled and receiving visitors I'll be sure to incorporate a stop at the Angel, for another epic full English.

"So disappointingBefore coming to the swan I had looked at the menu online, as my youngest child has allergies and is dairy free. It states on the menu that ‘light bites’ are GF and most can be adapted to be DF, brilliant! It was our last day of our holiday and I thought I’d treat them to a nice lunch out before heading home. Where do I start, the service attitude from the lady behind the bar was shocking. I asked what could be made DF for my son and was told that there wasn’t anything and they don’t cater for allergies?! I pointed out on the menu that they state they can and was met with an eye roll basically. Anyway, I thought I would get him some chips, nope, they fry them in the same oil as the dairy and meat products we are vegetarian ! I then asked about the VEGAN dishes they had and I was told they are also cooked and prepared for alongside the meat products so they can’t guarantee they will actually be vegan!! By this point my daughters had already got excited about eating out and the play area that I couldn’t really back track, so I went against my better judgement and ordered 3 sandwiches on granary bread and a childrens fish chips. My son had a packet of crisps. The sandwiches arrived and were absolutely awful, the cheese and onion one was 2 slices of cheap shop bought bread with some pre grated cheese and a couple of slices of onion not even any butter! It wasn’t cheap, £45 for 4 soft drinks, 3 sandwiches and a child meal. Then there’s the play area, sharp screws poking up through the wood chip, lose sharp fixings on top of the slide, and a massive electric open cable under the swings! We swiftly left, it was such a bad end to our holiday and should have been our final hurrah before driving home. Was appalled at their attitude towards me, was treated like an inconvenience, food was awful, please don’t eat there if you are Vegan, although the dish is vegan ? they certainly don’t take the steps necessary to keep it away from meat, and definitely not safe for anyone with an allergy. Such a shame as the location is so pretty with the river opposite, we were excited and left feeling really disappointed. Will not be back."
