"On arriving at Ask on 30th December, the staff had no record of my online booking even though I followed up with a phone call ahead of the day to confirm a high chair was required. My friends and I found the staff unsympathetic to our predicament and made us feel like the error was our fault rather than OpenTable or Ask. Even an apology at the time would have softened our disappointment but instead the staff seemed rude and unfriendly. There was no space to accommodate us for lunch even though I had made a booking so we were forced to leave in the hope that we could find somewhere to eat. Thankfully Prezzo in Marlborough managed to find us a table and we were really impressed by the friendly and accommodating staff. A sharp contrast to our experience with the staff at Ask. We had travelled some distance to meet in Marlborough for a birthday lunch and sadly we left Ask frustrated at the lack of friendly reception at the restaurant. Due to this unacceptable experience, I will not be using Open Table again for any bookings and we will not be returning to Ask in Marlborough."

I have dined at this restaurant three times in the past few months. The beef ragu with pappardelle pasta is absolutely delicious. I would highly recommend it. The food, service, and atmosphere all receive a perfect score of 5.

Mid week evening on a chilly Feb night.. Warm welcome by very passionate staff. Light and airy, will be great on a summers evening.. Immaculate and clean. Menu with wide choice and for all tastes and budgets. Food was lovely and fresh, very helpful waiter. Would go again.

I just returned from a trip to Italy and the food and atmosphere at this restaurant were even better than most places there. And thankfully, no cover charge! Restaurant called me to cancel my table couple hours before dinner, saying they no longer book through your platform, so you had cancelled. I protested, since I booked weeks in advance and argued your platform could not have cancelled at last minute as they pretended. They called me back and I had a table. Upon arrival, they urged me to chose and be served immediately in a rather hostile manner. I had to forcibly resist this bullying attitude in order to be served, well, normally. Odd manager, best avoided.

Well, well, well. One does not simply ask Italian from the menu. After the 15 second debacle or pronunciation issue of the Italian dialect, we were graced with speedy results of our delicious Espresso Martini. Note to self do not eat coffee beans. Starter were simply sublime followed up by an eager main. The main could only be described as average, however average is not bad it’s dependable and loyal. You know what you’ll receive compared to the complexity of the menu. Cheese fondute sublime Calzone average.
