"A Local Favourite. I can't quite understand some of the reviews I have seen here. I have no idea why anyone would choose this small, independent restaurant for your office party of people -I'm pretty sure you couldn't fit anything like that number in here..This is one of the few remaining traditional, independent businesses in the area, and it offers a much more intimate experience than can be found at the likes of Lobster Burger or Polpo. I'm not saying that it cn't be a bit cramped on a busy night, but this is part of its charm...and there is outdoor seating too, if you are so inclinedMy food was simple, unpretentious and excellent: my lingine con frutti di mare was packed with very fresh prawns, scampi, squid, clams and mussels and steamed in foil. The tomato sauce that accompanied it was delicate and well-balanced.My companion had the set menu: avocado vinaigrette, followed by risotto agli asparagi (asparagus risotto) for The avocado was perfectly ripe, and came served on a nice (if unannounced) bed of salad -the only criticism was that the sauce wasn't exactly vinaigrette, but something slightly creamier -it still tasted good though. The risotto was also very pleasant, the asparagus being cooked through (but not over-done), which made a pleasant change from the current trend for serving it partially-cooked. I also liked the free prosecco to start with and the amaretto and amaretti biscuits that they gave you after your meal. Sure, it isn't the reason i came here, but these nice little touches are appreciated. Service was charming and very attentive. I liked the fact that they gave me a finger-bowl because of my seafood."

I'm a little surprised by the lack of reviews here.

My little posse has a soft spot for little family-owned Italian joints, and this warmed our heart.

Customer Service NOT. Just tried booking Christmas lunch for my company of 50 people. Had phone put down on me and when I called again, was laughed at for trying to book too early!!! Its now September try in December! . The man I dealt with was rude, unhelpful and sarcastic. So much for the other reviews of friendly atmosphere Eat there at your peril!! On dear just lost a potential £2,000 booking!!

avoid them. I don't want to make bad reviews. it feels quite mental and I don't want to stop anyone living in these times of economic difficulties. but I was so deceived after I visited this place that I felt that I should warn others so that they would not fall into the same. I can reluctantly accept sub-standard food when I'm in a bit hurry and it's too cold to look for food from a really decent place. as it was in the devastating night the case was, which is really bureaucratic, if this is coupled with appalling, respectful and unlawful service." Therefore I write that and will not regret it, as mentioned...more

Here's soouo sweet. there is the impression of an old school Italian trattoria with jolly service, upbeat skills and good portions eating. not the whole team are French with some Portuguese throw (the owners), but the dishes are very typical of traditional Italian pastas and pizza with some interesting secondi. with all the artisanal pizza placed and tapas bar style Italian cookers open, it is good to just keep them a good plate without nonsense pasta. without a calf, quail or any other cool ingredient that makes the round. it becomes hectic when it is busy and the evening is filled with a familiar amount they get here. mittagessen has a super-set deal menu, but...read more

This is a small Italian restaurant on Cowcross Street, a minute's walk from Farringdon station. It's always pretty busy at lunch time when local office workers go for a quick pasta dish. I must admit that it does not offer the best Italian food in London but the place is charming enough (one wall is covered in a painting by the owner), the tables are small and packed in tight but it allows for conversation between neighbours and the staff are lovely. If you're lucky enough, you'll get a free glass of rose bubbly to entice you in on Thursday and Friday evenings Attilio's offers a cheap-ish sit down meal (over 30 pounds for two with main and dessert and wine) that's a good stop over at...read...
