"We were very disappointed about this restaurant, so famous about their charming garden.Food, heavy Normandy dishes, is good but prices are Parisian. The owner cares only about his usual guests and is rude with new ones.. When we booked the table on the phone, we asked him for a table in the garden in a place where we wouldn't bother anyone (as we were with a baby in a stroller). When we came, it appeared that the garden was closed and we had very little space. The owner(who is serving food) was voluntary poking the stroller when passing and making remarks that we should fold the stroller as other people would come soon which never happened.. We felt unwelcomed and we waited around 40 minutes for dishes. The menu was only in French with only one vegetarian dish. Even though the place is very original genuine Normandy "Auberge", I'd never go back there again. Anyway, the owner seems not to bother about having any new clients so I wouldn't recommend it to anyone!"

We were a group of 11. The atmosphere was very cosy and the food was delicious. I can imagine the garden being a lovely spot in the summer. We were inside by the huge open fire. The meal was the highlight of our stay. Thank you.

The restaurant is really cosy and intimate with a nice fire place . You really feel in the country and on a relaxing weekend when you go there . Great service, especially the son . Food was very 'french' but delicious - hot camembert, cider etc . Greatly recommanded.

Very nice view. Friendly staff and good local food! We wanted to have a light lunch but most dishes were too heavy as the waiter told us, so he suggested to take both a starter and share, which was enough and really tasty!Afterwards he helped us to found a distillery in the neighbourhood.

Food is good, very fat traditional Normandy style but pricey for such kind of cuisine.Dining room is cosy and in an old Normandy house in the middle of a quiet and very beautiful villageThe son hosting the restaurant is welcoming but the father co-hosting appears less nice to non local guests.

Wonderful experience. The restaurant is located in a very nice place and inside the restaurant you are welcomed by very cosy and warm atmosphere. Of course, food was delicious, natural and very local. We were a group of 12 persons visiting and we were very happy with the service provided. Would recommend for everyone.

An excellent, friendly restaurant, tucked away in a beautiful little hamlet. The cuisine is very specialised, focussing on regional specialities. The father/son partnership worked so well and we were made to feel most welcome. The restaurant is small and the atmosphere very cosy - so book to ensure a table. We had a lovely evening and had a most enjoyable 'chat' (his English/our French) with the photographer father who gave us a very proud guided tour of his enchanted garden. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

We stopped here for lunch to break up our journey from Calais to Bayeux. It was worth the diversion from the autoroute to find this picturesque little village. There were 12 of us in total. We sat outside and the view was wonderful. The waiter could not have been more helpful explaining every dish on the menu in detail. We all enjoyed the meal and the relaxing atmosphere. We all had different items from the menu and apart from the one person in our group who chose the tripe we were not disappointed. The one person who had the tripe did comment that it tasted different from what she expected and she preferred the taste she was used to from the UK. Not a criticism, rather be aware that it is "...

"We entered this restaurant with high expectations as it possesses a Michelin star. We were not disappointed by the food, although service left something to be desired. One can get 4 courses for about 45 EUR or 5 for about 55 EUR (I.e. Both a meat and a fish main course). My mussels were delicious and cooked in an interesting sauce. They were followed by a sort of hotpot of local fishes, cooked in a refined way. After the ubiquitous cheese plate, pudding was an individual apple tart baked with very light crispy pastry. From the descriptions I have given of the dishes, they sound humble enough, but they were in fact done to a high level of confection in accordance with what is expected in a gastronomic restaurant. However, the service was somewhat brusque and at times almost verging on rudeness. Our white wine was opened but left unpoured for an unacceptable length of time, but when I finally began to pour it myself the waiter came up and grabbed the bottle from my hands. The manner of another waiter was also uncharming and a little condescending. And neither can the staff's behaviour be explained by a lack of linguistic competence on our part of our party, one speaks fluent French, another speaks French well enough to work at a Paris law firm, and I speak fairly competently, having been visiting France for 20 years. There was just no excuse. None the less, it was wonderful cooking and the service, though charmless, wasn't actually overtly rude, so the occasion was joyous and not spoiled."
