"Really lovely gastro pub in the centre of town. Excellent choice of cask keg ale. Dog friendly throughout. Excellent cooking, recommend the mussel starter venison stew. What makes the pub stand out for us is the excellent customer service. My husband had ordered the wrong main mistakenly (entirely his own fault) and the waiter swapped it for another dish with such speed kindness. Great place, I hope we get to come back."

I do a lot of hiking and foraging in this area as it is a handy location by train from Edinburgh and usually go to local competition but visited here today and found food much better than elsewhere. Will definitely be back! View menu

Great menu, very reasonably priced. Food is excellent beautifully cooked and presented. Special mention to server Stela and bar guys Jack and Harry. They provided great service on a very busy Sunday with warm smiles and calm team work.

Great quality pub with great quality food for very reasonable prices. We took our 2 dogs in and they were lovely, even offering dog biscuits. Highly recommend the fish n chips tempura, the portions were a good size and staff were lovely.
