"The bar at this establishment is delightful, with friendly staff who ensure your comfort in the evening. Although we did not sample the dinner options, they all looked appealing. Breakfast is a treat, with the experienced and efficient manager ensuring a smooth operation. There are various delicious breakfast choices, including a continental selection and the option to order cooked food. Our favorites are the haggis, potato scones, and bacon. However, a recent change in serving tea and coffee during breakfast service left us disappointed - we now have to fill our mugs with hot water ourselves, rather than being served a pot of tea. We hope they reinstate the teapots soon, as they are more fitting for this lovely restaurant setting."

Had the fish chips. Fish tasteless tired. Mushy peas acceptable. Chips were the star! The breakfasts are not much better either.

We ordered through the online order feature as there was no availability to dine in. The process was very clear and straight forward to follow and the food was absolutely beautiful. Would recommend without hesitation.

The food at this restaurant was excellent and we will definitely be returning, although it was a bit expensive which may deter some people from dining there. Despite this, we had a great experience for our anniversary and thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast. View menu

I went along with my family and very much enjoyed my tasty lunch! What a beautiful restaurant! Only thing that was annoying is receiving your menu and not getting time to look! Also asking for dessert menus and none appeared! We Realised that she wasn’t coming back and having to ask another member of staff which was irritating!

We unfortunately did not stay at this hotel but friends of ours did and they said it was fantastic. We ate multiple times in the bar area where the food served was fantastic. Very tasty, good portion sizes and good value for money. The menu is also very good too. The bar area was wonderful and the service was also very good indeed.

Visited while staying at the Seamill Hydro hotel. It took over 25 mins to get our drinks and there were only three other couples seated in the room. Some of the bar staff were totally disengaged while other were working their socks off! The bar area, especially the floor area behind the unpolished brass bar, needs to be cleaned! It really won’t take long! View menu

Disappointed at the waterside bar where we were staying we walked here to eat at the Orangery. Then before returning home we stopped for a quick drink which led to a few. This bar was absolutely superb, fantastic clean and well sanitised (during the pandemic) quick service, superb cocktails, well run and a sheer delight to be here. The whole establishment was superbly run in every way. I only wish we had stayed in the hotel.

The breakfast at this restaurant could use some improvement. It would be better if they offered a buffet instead of made-to-order options. The wait for tea and coffee was long, with elderly guests struggling to operate the machines and staff too busy to assist. After breakfast, the main bar had a good selection of draft beers, but three of them were unavailable for the entire weekend. For a restaurant of this size and quality, the main bar could use some improvement.

"We were a party of 5, on a cold, very wet Saturday evening, coldest so far I would say! We drew up and saw a young family of 3 sitting with jackets on in the conservatory area, we were a bit concerned! We took a...seat at the back of the conservatory which proved to be a big mistake! There was a terrible draught coming from behind me, I did mention it and was told it was 27c at the middle of the room, but not where we were sitting!! I mentioned it a few times and sat with my shawl scarf on throughout! I pulled down the window blinds hoping that would help, nope!! We ordered our food, I asked about a vegetarian option for my husband, our waitress did say he could a veggie option on the curry and the tempura or risotto, which was helpful! I had to ask what was the soup of the day and also the pate!! I did feel that maybe in this day and age there should have been a small dedicated vegetarian area on the menu, but that’s just my opinion! 3 of our party had starters which were great, Cullen skink, scallops and langoustine tempura, Main courses arrived, 3 fish and chips, one lemon soul and one veggie tempura, all were excellent except for the veggie tempura which was large shards of onion and carrot in an albeit lovely batter, but not all vegetarians like huge chunks of vegetables! 4 of our party had a sticky toffee pudding with vanilla ice cream, which was plentiful! Overall we had a pleasant meal, little or no atmosphere though, one of the younger waitresses (white shirt, black skirt) was friendly and more talkative, the waitress (dressed all in black)who served us was, we all felt a little disinterested and lacked any empathy with the guests! We asked for our bill, the youngest waitress came with the card machine and felt how cold it was only then did she check the windows to find there was one opened, hence the draught, which spoiled our visit because we were felling it cold!! We paid the bill and left a tip on the plate, no one came to say thank you for you custom, or have a nice evening, nothing!! All in all it was pretty inhospitable! Value you for money, it was good for the standard of the food!"
