"My husband and I, Grandson and partner and great Grandchild turned up at this venue today and it was full. Owner asked if we wanted to wait 15 minutes he would reserve a table for us. It was freezing cold and we said thanks but we would find somewhere else just at that about 6 folk were leaving and the owner asked if we wanted to come in out the cold he would arrange a table for us. He provided a high chair for the baby. We were very impressed by the menu and prices. My hubby and I had the angel cut haddock which was beautiful. Locally sourced too which impressed us. Good service , reasonably priced and very welcoming. We'll be back."

Great! Had a really delicious homemade soup and tea with free refills. The owner couldn’t have been more welcoming. Not surprised it has won Best Cafe in Scotland

Just moved to largs and being a big out for coffee person I decided on my mums visit to take her here for lunch. The girl who served me was very uninterested and had to repeat order a few times. She said it back and...

We visit the Bagel Basket usually for coffee and cake. But today we had the breakfast special for the first time, and this won't be the last. A full breakfast including toast and any hot drink for £7 is a real bargain. You can expect... View menu

In this gem of a restaurant right now. Absolutely delightful. Food first class. Spotlessly clean. Stewart (owner) made us feel most welcome. Prices are excellent, with good sized portions. Cakes are superb. Would highly recommend. Next time we are in Largs, we know exactly where...

This café/bistro located in the town center is fantastic. We received a warm and friendly welcome on a cold and rainy day. The menu offers a variety of great choices and the food made from locally sourced ingredients was delicious. I would highly recommend this place if you are in the area. View menu

On December 30th, 2022, my partner and I had lunch at this cafe. The owners and staff were incredibly friendly and efficient, making us and our dog feel very welcome. I ordered the locally sourced battered haddock, while my partner had the macaroni cheese. Both dishes were absolutely delicious. The meal, staff, and atmosphere were all fantastic.

I am a proud owner of a new puppy so I decided to introduce her to one of my best friends with a walk on the seafront followed by coffee and scones in the Bagel Basket. I’ve been here before and have reviewed positively on how good it was but, coming along with my wee 17 week old pooch, we couldn’t have been more welcome. Lovely touches such as staff asking me if it was ok for them to give her biscuits she was made a fuss of. Not to mention the manager advising us of the winter scone offer and the scones we had being fresh and tasty and the coffee great. Thanks Bagel Basket. You’re great!

"We were a party of 5, on a cold, very wet Saturday evening, coldest so far I would say! We drew up and saw a young family of 3 sitting with jackets on in the conservatory area, we were a bit concerned! We took a...seat at the back of the conservatory which proved to be a big mistake! There was a terrible draught coming from behind me, I did mention it and was told it was 27c at the middle of the room, but not where we were sitting!! I mentioned it a few times and sat with my shawl scarf on throughout! I pulled down the window blinds hoping that would help, nope!! We ordered our food, I asked about a vegetarian option for my husband, our waitress did say he could a veggie option on the curry and the tempura or risotto, which was helpful! I had to ask what was the soup of the day and also the pate!! I did feel that maybe in this day and age there should have been a small dedicated vegetarian area on the menu, but that’s just my opinion! 3 of our party had starters which were great, Cullen skink, scallops and langoustine tempura, Main courses arrived, 3 fish and chips, one lemon soul and one veggie tempura, all were excellent except for the veggie tempura which was large shards of onion and carrot in an albeit lovely batter, but not all vegetarians like huge chunks of vegetables! 4 of our party had a sticky toffee pudding with vanilla ice cream, which was plentiful! Overall we had a pleasant meal, little or no atmosphere though, one of the younger waitresses (white shirt, black skirt) was friendly and more talkative, the waitress (dressed all in black)who served us was, we all felt a little disinterested and lacked any empathy with the guests! We asked for our bill, the youngest waitress came with the card machine and felt how cold it was only then did she check the windows to find there was one opened, hence the draught, which spoiled our visit because we were felling it cold!! We paid the bill and left a tip on the plate, no one came to say thank you for you custom, or have a nice evening, nothing!! All in all it was pretty inhospitable! Value you for money, it was good for the standard of the food!"
