"What an amazing find! I find it hard to find a decent fish restaurant these days so I was made up to find this little place. When you arrive you go through a little courtyard with a shop selling craft foods and beverages and fresh fish. We had booked online for the restaurant but we were the one ones in there due to the time of our booking. The menu wasn’t extensive but it was sufficient. There were 5 in our party including our 8 year old fussy eater . We had fresh Scallops, fresh mussels, tempura langoustines, tempura chicken and salmon pate for starters. Kids gosh and chips, fish and chips, halibut and bacon with poached egg and 2 fish mixed grill. The mixed grill had ‘whatever fish the chef decided to grab’ on it (servers words , turned out to be halibut, salmon, sea bream, langoustine and clams. It was all very fresh and best we’ve had. The chips were absolutely gorgeous too. They don’t serve alcohol though and so you have to buy it from the shop and take it in with you which is no problem Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: £20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4 Recommended dishes: Seafood Platter, Trio of Fish"

Have been going here for nearly 20 years as an annual treat, this time it was probably our last. The dishes ranged from competent to laughably bad, the fish and chips in particular would have been sub standard even for a chip shop, with soggy batter on the fish and chips that were barely cooked. There were substitutions on other dishes that we were only told about on delivery. You would have thought a fish restaurant would make good tartar sauce. The sticky toffee pudding has always been legendary at Finns, this time, it tasted like it was bought in. Surprisingly poor service considering the staff almost outnumbered the diners. Couldn't even get the spelling right on the menu. We remember wh...

6 of us booked Saturday 26th for an early evening meal, waiters very sweet but slow to take our order... langostines in a starter where tiny tails and very hard to peel, finger bowls were too small, no more paper napkins were offered with the main meals,we had to ask for lemon to go with the oysters, the tempura langustines pretty tasteless, no condiments were offered i.e salad oil etc during the meal ..the halibut main came with mussels instead of clams and the mash Portion it sat on was tiny, I had moules and there was an un pleasant and over powering taste of wood smoke in the whole dish, this was not mentioned on the menu and I left my main for others to try,we bought our own drinks but th...

"Popped in for a coffee this afternoon, kind of wish I hadn 't. I asked for a Flat White, my freind had a Delux Cappuccino . We also asked about cakes. Both of us opted for the Apple Pie with Ice Cream. To say I was disappointed is a bit of an understatement. The pie was flat and soggy and to be honest wasn 't the best tasting apple pie. The ice cream was a single scoop of cheap Raspberry Ripple, the kind of cheap, nasty stuff I would have gotten as part of a primary school dinner some point in the late 1980 's. The pie arrived 1st then the coffee 's a minute or so later. We didn 't get any cutlery with the pie but assumed some would be brought over with the coffees... No. All we had was the teaspoon that came with the coffee, no decent sized spoon of fork and no napkin either (other tables had cutlery and napkins). My Flat White wasn 't really all that good, it was essentialy just a Latte and even then, the coffee wasn 't that decent. My freinds delux cappuccino was supposed to come with cream, marshmallows and a flake, I saw no evidence of the flake (unless it had sunk and dissolved), just extra dusted chocolate, a tiny bit of squirty cream and some very small marshmallows I wouldn 't say it looked delux Final point of annoyance was the price. £11.50 for 2 mediocre coffees and 2 worse than mediocre Apple Pies. Also they only take Cash! Not great in a post covid environment where every other business under the sun is trying to use contactless payments to reduce the chances of infection. Given the location and the competition, I would expect this place to be better. I was there a number of years ago and got decent coffee and a really nice slice of cake. Since then it has been remodelled and I believe changed owners. Even still, with a Costa next door, a restaurant/pub behind them, another coffee shop accross the street and several kiosk icecream/coffee/doughnut or chip shops all within 50yrds they really need to pick up their game. Prime position right on the prominade of a busy sea side town. I suppose they may be trying to get quantity over quality...? The only posative I can find is that the 2 x young women who were serving seemed pleasant and freindly, but that can 't make up for the poor quality products that were not worth the money being charged. I went there today largely because I enjoyed what I had the last time and would rather give my money to a local business rather than massive corporation like Costa but to be honest, I don 't think I will be back there any time soon."
