",we came here for a late Sunday roast, the older First Lady we spoke with was amazing and made us very welcomed and comfortable, we started off with drinks in the lounge area before going to the restaurant most of our servers were great, the server Daniel ruined the whole experience at Berkshire arms , he was very short with us and even when it was time to close at 10.30 with others still there with full drinks he advised us they were shutting we felt targeted as other patrons were still in there drinks full pints etc but we were asked to go by him. Daniel ruined our experience and really let the whole team down as he never once smiled or felt welcoming, 5 stars to all other staff on Sunday evening"

The service was somewhat inconsistent. It seemed like we had a new server who accidentally brought us the wrong drinks, and I noticed that they only accept digital payments, no cash. Overall, I would rate the service a 3 and the location a 4.

Food and Drinks: The dinner was excellent, but breakfast was disappointing. Many items were lukewarm rather than piping hot, suggesting they had been prepared some time ago. Rooms: 5 Service: 4 Location: 4 Hotel Highlights: Quiet atmosphere.

Lovely meal with my mum wife and 1 year old son, service brilliant, until I had 3 waitress stood around me bringing the whole attention of the pub onto me as I only had cash which the pub/restaurant doesn't accept, please avoid this and bring card as it's worth it, just being bullied for a card isnt! Thanks Service: 4 Location: 4

Rare to find somewhere with a great selection of non alcoholic and decaff drinks. The staff were spot on, the food was hot and tasty and the room was very clean and cozy, a nice little touch with the milk urn so you could have fresh milk instead of those little cartons. Just needs a few EV chargers for a perfect stay Rooms: 5 Service: 5 View menu

We visited this restaurant for a pre-wedding gathering the night before our wedding, and we opted for the Indian buffet. It was a hit with our guests; the food was absolutely delicious. We also appreciated the complimentary bottle of Prosecco. A huge thank you to Maria, who was amazing throughout the entire process and on the evening itself. Thank you so much, Berkshire Arms! Stayed in the hotel here like I have done many times. At 2am there was a knock on my door from a male voice shouting housekeeping and then my door opened. I shot out of bed to see someone walking into my room. I shouted get out at as they quickly turned round and ran away. I went to reception only for them to tell me that none of this was at all possible and I must have been dreaming. Due to their poor attitude and lack of care I have had to get the police involved. This is not a safe hotel to stay. Avoid at all costs

"Our first visit. We cannot praise thank The Wellie highly enough. What a find! Peacefully rural on a quiet road to the south of Baughurst. A classic, pretty country pub, now converted to an excellent restaurant, with three rooms. What strikes you first is how immaculate The Wellie is, inside and out. The large garden is a delight. Masses of dahlias and all manner of bushes and plants. Birds, birds and more birds. Do check out the vegetable garden beyond the rear car park. You then walk inside to the warmest of relaxed welcomes from the owners, Simon and Jason, and manager, Sheila, and their lovely young helpers. Nothing is too much trouble. The first thing you’ll spot is the array of fruit, veg salad for sale by the pub bar – the Wellie Deli. Along with home made jams, chutneys, quiches, etc. I then spotted the two hand pumps! Longdog Golden Poacher Basingstoke Pride. The seating inside is for diners every session is a sell out! But I was very happy to sup several excellent pints of well kept draught Basingstoke Pride in the garden – until I discovered their Negronis! Truly the best this side of Kwant (Piccadilly). We’d opted for the room in the pub: the Apartment. Two rooms on the first floor, knocked through. Enormous comfy bed, large rainfall shower, sofa, mini bar – two TVs! Free milk homemade shortbread. One of the discoveries we made here is the fabulous tea they serve from Prince Sons. As you can tell by now, we were very happy with our first stay at The Wellie… and then we went down for dinner! A truly exceptional menu from Jason’s kitchen, which changes each evening. Highlights were the scallops wrapped in pancetta, the pollack, the lamb pot pie, the twice baked cheese souffle, the NY cheesecake, the rhubarb ice cream, the treacle tart... All so fresh, tasty, and mainly from their garden. What we loved most was it was relaxed but fine dining without the tiny portions. The Full English breakfast the next morning was equally tasty. All in all, we did not want to go home! Thank you Simon, Jason Sheila. We will be back, soon."
