"This restaurant is THE best kept secret in Sussex and a foodie's dream. It is a wonderful restaurant, well worthy of a Michelin star, for the quality/taste/presentation of food, not to mention the exceptional pairings of the estate's own wines. The menu was clearly created by a chef that is passionate about ingredients, preparation, presentation, and above all taste. The service was also outstanding. Our server, Vanessa and her team provided a level of service that I've only experienced in fine dining restaurants. I could continue to gush about remarkable individual moments (complimentary drinks, fantastic conversation with the team, the efforts the team went to make our guest's birthday special, the vineyard setting, etc). However, I will simply end by recommending the venue highly for general dining, a daytime date or a memorable Sunday meal with loved ones. Try it. You will not regret it! Parking: Generous number of parking spaces within a vineyard setting."

Food, wine and setting all very nice. Unfortunately for us the service was rather slow, but it did not seem so for others. They did however give us coffees on the house.

Absolutely stunning location. Amazing attentive staff, a regular, go to vouchers for relatives and friends over the Christmas period what better present could you think of giving

Went there for Sunday lunch and also wine touring/tasting! All the staff are great however the prices are ridiculous. You'll pay more for their own wine here than in the supermarkets. Not happy with this. If you're a fan of getting fleeced then make sure you pay this place a visit

We were there for Sunday lunch. The quality of the food was excellent. Roasted Jerusalem artichokes and cauliflower soup starters, roast beef, roast pork belly and fish and chips for mains, chocolate mousse, white peach parfait and sticky toffee pudding for dessert, and the Sussex cheese platter. All delicious and spot on for price and quality (though some bigger bits of cheese would have been nice). If one small niggle, roast potatoes could have been crispier. We had a bottle of blanc de blanc (yum) and a 4 glass taster flight, but also a couple of tasters of other wines courtesy of the wonderful staff. All in all a wonderful afternoon out in the beautiful Sussex countryside and early autum...

"Don't come here expecting to grab a quick bite and not book.. ..... The Heritage is a place to relax and savour every mouthful of food whilst being looked after by a really friendly team. The restaurant has a good balance of formal and relaxed....the service is attentive but not starchy and uncomfortable. The food is amazing.... We have lived here a long time and have been thankful that Matt and his team arrived and breathed life back into this previously boarded up building with an extraordinary amount of energy. They haven't excluded villagers from going into the bar and having a drink and we often do . It's good to see an eclectic mix of clientelle all there with a common aim...to enjoy a memorable and special dining experience in the beautiful surroundings of the village. Amused by an earlier rather sour review about twitching curtains in the village we feel compelled to say that the Heritage has brought a rather more considerate visitor that is careful not to block driveways and generally respect the pretty surroundings. We also know getting accidentally stuck up a road that turns into a bridleway can be stressful.....my husband has on occasions reversed the odd car down for a bewildered visitor because it can get a bit tight if there happens to be a wedding at the church. Just leave a little time for the whole dining experience......No one rushes you out of your seat and the table is yours for the evening. It is well worth coming ."

"Okay so we intended on going to another pub we had booked but could not park but we had passed this lovely pub on the way past so returned there and the lovely girl there found us a table outside. Initial impressions were very positive a BBQ going and lot 's of plates coming out. Our expectations were very high. We were seen to very quickly but waited quite some time before food came out. The ladies of our group had roasts and they looked awesome with the biggest Yorkshire puddings I 've ever seen but once they began it was clear that the beef was very rare even too rare for my wife who loves rare beef! However to me the rest looked great. Sadly we couldn 't say the same for anything else. My fish and chips had to go back as the first was just batter or two little pieces joined together in the middle where the fish would usually be. It was hugely disappointing for £20!! Then my mates burger came and it was tiny, very wet with a tiny number of fries, his face fell as it cost almost £20! the plate was half empty. He sent this back shortly after sending mine back. Our daughter who is 4 got a kids sausage and chips was with mash but they swapped it for us . This was the biggest insult, for £9 £9! she got two small deep fried sausages nothing special with a tiny number of fries in a small cereal bowl it was a joke. She had no way to even eat them being in a small bowl. We assumed the juice was included being £9 but no, that was an extra £3! Not even a side salad of any kind let alone a scoop of ice cream. Then my fish came back with the old chunky chips being refried to within an inch of their life and it was the worst ever just a load of hard greasy batter with overcooked fish so I ate what I could and that wasn 't much. My mates burger came back but no better than before but ate it after we told him not to send it back. We got the vibe they weren 't happy we sent our food back, the waitress asked how it was and we were very blunt; she gestured like it wasn 't unexpected and later came back to say she had taken the fish and burger off our bill. I thanked her and told her she really didn 't have to do that and hoped our feedback would help going forward. Despite the dishes being taken off it was still so expensive and really poor value for money. I just cannot fathom paying £12 for 2x sausages and 20 fries with some orange juice, It 's a real shame, nice pub, nice staff but our food was both overpriced and lacking. The waitress said they were very busy and I understand the pressures in the kitchen but we left really disappointed and felt we had wasted £120. We actually laughed about it on the way home telling our daughter she ate the worlds most expensive 'cheap ' sausages!"
