"Bolney is central to meeting up with my old school friends and we have always used The Bolney Stage for our catch-up. Having been recommended to try The Eight Bells I looked it up on the internet and was very impressed by the choice on the menu, so booked. I'm sorry to say it did not live up to expectations. The place was completely empty when we got there so had our choice of tables. My 2 friends arrived first and bought drinks. We found out later that the lime and soda had been overcharged by £2. We then looked at the menu which was quite limited. I had been expecting liver and bacon but sadly was not there. My friends asked what the soup of the day was as they fancied soup and half a sandwich. Unfortunately there was no soup and we were also told there was no chilli. They just had a panini each which when it came was HUGE. Perhaps a little too big, but very tasty. I myself had the steak pie which I thoroughly enjoyed. So no problems with quality of food, just lack of expected items from website menus. Service left a lot to be desired. Tables were never cleared, we weren't asked if we wanted more drinks, coffee, puddings which saved us from spending our money but was not really good for the business. A lost opportunity and we will be returning to The Bolney Stage. Sorry."

"Was able to sit outside the pub on a bench and was served by staff from there. COVID restrictions and PPE in place and the smell of the Sunday roasts serving from the pub were mouth watering. Really friendly staff and helped accommodate us as we only wanted drinks as we were in the middle of a walk from the Down link. ????????"

"came to this cozy pub/bar for lunch. we had sneaked salmon with to begin, salmon was excellent, beautiful thin slices and a really nice subtle smokey aroma, simply made with fresh lemon, good brot and butter. it is a great part so that they can easily share this court. since I did not share this and ate it all to me, I chose for my main thing a smaller court that was smoked schellock croquettes that came with a slightly healed? I don't know if it was because I had the intensively flavored smoked salmon to start, but the croquettes seemed a little bland after this and in any case the addition of the sosse that came with them. my partner had fish chips, dry crispy chips and many of them, large crispy light broken squids, with big flocks of white fish, plucked, with a small part of what tasted like homemade tartar sauce. nice friendly staff and conductive water and spicy on the table without having to ask for them. really nice lunch here we will return definitiw."

"As a family we eat at a local pub once a month, sometimes more. The pub we've used countless times in Warnham today lost our custom. They've always taken far more care of their conversations than their customers and we've had enough. The Black Horse is simply brilliant in comparison. Parking, views, food, service, timing, every kindness and concern for accessibility and disability given. Quite frankly the best. Ignore the negative reviews, not a shred of truth in them we think. Loved our time today, we'll be back. Lovely to be looked after like one of the family, by a family run business"
