"We called in for an unplanned coffee and cake after my wife finished her work at lunch time. I feel you can always gauge a cafe or a restaurant by the number seats empty for a lunchtime snack and coffee. They struggled to find a seat for us, but found two seats towards the back of the restaurant. Another gauge of a successful cafe is the word or . My wife can make her mind up several times over with the word or causing the waitress to scrub out the previous order and start again. There was no hesitation on the occasion. Carrot cake and a flat white she said emphatically. I waited for the first Or but it never came. Her mind was made up. Never in the field of human lunchtimes has a decision been made so swiftly. That in itself meant more about The Divine on The Green and their standards, the food, the ambience, their coffee, and their very helpful and friendly staff than could be said by a whole committee of overpaid and opinionated newspaper critics. I will be here again!"

"Maybe we were here on a bad day as other reviews don't reflect the service and welcome we received. Had been visiting the area and staying locally. Had seen good reviews so thought we'd give it a try. Late opening. Clearly not ready to serve. We asked about food to be told with a sigh that he could do a sandwich. Seemed like an inconvenience so we left. No warm atmosphere. No warm welcome as others describe. Maybe we just arrived on a bad day but as regular visitors to the area, we certainly wouldn't bother visiting this pub again."

"I only visited the restaurant and ordered the steak rare, with shallot. The steak came well done, overcooked, sadly turning good meat into dry, tough meat. Worse still, when serving me the dish, the waitress dropped the only vegetable accompanying the meat on the table. So far, nothing unusual, accidents happen and are understandable. However, instead of offering me the chance to put the dish back together in the kitchen with a new garnish, the waitress simply apologised and left. If I wanted to, I could eat the vegetables straight from the table. To summarise, it's a restaurant with a good atmosphere and potential. The service, however, has made it too expensive for what it offers."

"Went here for a Birthday meal,it was very enjoyable from start to finish,the food was delicious all cooked to perfection in the authentic Italian style.The menu had a lot to choose from with a very wide variety of lovely dishes.All the staff we’re very nice and made you all feel welcome.With a nice friendly relaxed atmosphere,it was very busy as it has become a very popular restaurant in the town of Calne in Wiltshire.will definitely go back to sample some more of this lovey Italian food.I can highly recommend this restaurant,booking is essential..... We visited here again for another Birthday meal on the 07/06/24 again it was first class Italian food with excellent service delivered by the lovely staff...."

"We had a wonderful lunch here after our walk. There were 16 of us, and the staff couldn’t have been more accommodating or efficient. Our dogs, who were a bit muddy from our hike, were also warmly welcomed and received special treatment with water and treats. It seemed like the bar was manned by just one person, but he worked tirelessly to ensure we were well taken care of, taking our orders and serving drinks swiftly and with a smile. Most of us ordered sandwiches, accompanied by chips. The bread was incredibly fresh, and the sandwiches were generously filled. The chips were served piping hot as well! Everything was delicious! Thank you for making a group of muddy walkers feel so welcomed and for providing such a fantastic lunch experience."
