Although the staff were decent people and the younger members were really nice, the team lacked a general cohesive hospitality and awareness. Awful **** flavour of Jazz, which felt forced and out of step, and then silence for ages, try some Chet Baker or something a bit mellower over dinner perhaps... place was empty on a Friday night...Shame as its a great spot. This lovely old Inn is English classic in every sense and well worth the little side trip into the tiny hamlet of Compton Bassett.

Just popped in for Sunday lunch so rooms n/a. Had 2 platters for the four of us. Great meal very impressed. Good beer and other drinks. Good service.
