"This WAS our favourite Bread Meats Bread Restaurant in Edinburgh! Unlike the one on North Bridge the portion sizes WERE still normal, at least until perhaps a month ago..... On our most recent AND LAST visit there seemed to be a new menue..... The food was as good and super tasty as ever but the portion sizes have been reduced significantly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This was esp. apparent with the chips portions. Do they think that people will not notice how the portions have become smaller!?! The price has gone up. We spend nearly £50 for lunch. C'ommon, who can afford this??? Needless to say, we will NOT be back which is a real shame as this was our most favourite Restaurant in Edinburgh. This is a real, real shame but to be ripped off like that is not fair."

We both had hot dogs with a side of bacon fries. The hotdog sausage was so spicy hot I couldn’t eat it. There was no warning on the Fringe Festival menu. The sauce on the chips said the sauce was spicy we were able... View menu

Great hamburger and nice salads. I would suggest to come here to eat, It is very nice. I also ordered the sandwich and chips which are much more better than the fabolous burger. The people inside are very kind and nice.

An amazing meal, fabulous service, wonderful staff and the best burger I have ever tasted! The kids burgers are just as big as the adults (Quite big) and I found the atmosphere and decorations amazing! Would definitely recommend! 10/10.

The burgers and food here are fantastic! The place was clean and service was great. The only thing I don’t like is that you don’t get any chips or onion rings with the Burger. For the price you pay you think you would. But otherwise was great! View menu

Absolutely gorgeous food we both had at the restaurant. With having a gluten allergy they catered for this and even had a gluten free menu. The gluten free brioche bun was superb. Also the vegan strawberry milkshake was so nice. The service was just as good as the food with all staff extremely helpful and fast. Will definitely be returning!

Good menu with lots of choice. Food was tasty but really heavy and fatty which is to be expected as its that kind of food but even with that in mind it was too hard going. Service was fine. My biggest issue and why I gave it 3 stars is price £13 for a burger would be alright but then it’s another £4 for fries and then to add insult to that they put on 10% service charge. Just short of £19 for a burger and fries just doesn’t match up with the quality of the food or the style of the restaurant.

"new kapitel has caught my attention after I was on top ten on trip advisor only months after the opening in the oktober last year. that and the fact that it is open for my early january birthday, made it the perfect place to celebrate to become a little older. I was with the man and his family. the man is quite used to my taste and good to the kind of kitchen that would appeal to me for a special occasion; his family not so much and I was filled with shame as his mother scornful went through the menu trying to find something she would enjoy. I've eaten with the family of the man, and I know they enjoy eating, so I think it's a failure of the menu that it is not accessible. the benming always blooming and garnish can appeal to some, but for others it is overcomplicated and it is necessary to find a balance between the two. we start with the starters and I go for venison sour wort pithvier. the venison was underheated and incredibly dry, to the happiness the sourded a little moisturizing and so saved the whole dish, but the aromen were quite not clear, except the garnitur of plastered mushrooms I thoroughly enjoyed. for the largest part we chose a fish dish for our main,- sea trout, smoked muddles, petersilien and coast herbs. where the starter fell, the main recording is getting back. the dish is rich and creamy, and each element adds the complexity of the taste as a whole, without disturbing. the concept is now an old one, and it would be deceptive if it had not worked, as it would essentially pay with this place. I enjoyed my meal in new chapter, although I do not agree with it is stellar status under the hierarchy of edinburgh eateries. it is top ten position is just a flash in the pan of hot popularity, and in time it will be plated in the upper half of the middle stage where it belongs. and that is where it belongs, the dishes can be plated with a michelin star in understood, and the venue and the supporting media has the clean lines and empty slate look of fine but eat the team has a long gone to go if that is their real aim. at the end, although it was a beautiful meal, and cheap (at the moment I would not be surprised to see their prices slowly rise) and the man’s mother found something they enjoyed and that is the most important."
