"We didn’t book, just asked if they had a table free and were shown to a window seat in the downstairs part of the tea-room. It is suggested that if going for something more (lunch, afternoon tea, etc) that a reservation is made in advance to ensure you get a table. The tea-room is easy to find being in the main road through Bradford on Avon, by the bridge over the river Avon, with a public car park (3 hour maximum) available near-by. From the outside this historic stone building (a former blacksmith's cottage dating from 1502) really oozes atmosphere, whilst inside you can lose yourself in a bygone era of Victorian décor with walls covered in old portraits, blue willow crockery and vintage photos. Classical music playing gently in the background, which adds to the serene tone, and the staff are clad in Victorian-style dress, even to the point that the girls wear traditional maid hats! Their menu was good, not overly extensive considering they are open until late afternoon and contains a page of different leaf teas available to order, staff were on hand to give advice if required in this area. The tea came served in beautiful fine china teapots and cups with saucers and being leaf tea you get a strainer. All scones, cakes, sandwiches, etc were apparently made on the premises and feature seasonal and local ingredients where possible. The warm food we ordered was done to order and considered well worth the wait as they were of good quality, well presented to a high standard (compliments to the chef on this), with decent portions being served. I recommend this tea-room, would use it again if visiting the area and considered it good value for money."

Brilliant! Fantastic for gluten free customers, plenty of choice. Wonderful toasted sandwiches and heavenly chips, and the best tea I’ve tasted for years!

The restaurant has a charming exterior and interior. The staff is dressed in Victorian attire, which adds a unique touch. However, the service is just okay. The prices are extremely high, with a pot of English breakfast tea for two and one dessert costing £18.20.

I was very excited to visit this restaurant with high hopes for a birthday celebration. The atmosphere was quaint, but unfortunately, some of the staff looked unhappy and were rude. The food was good, especially the sandwiches and scones. There was a large variety of teas to choose from. However, we did not receive a friendly welcome, which spoiled our experience. Overall, I would not rush back to this restaurant.

Quaint building, well thought out decor etc. Staff not very welcoming or helpful. I'm gluten intolerant so chose a GF cake and pot of tea. Unfortunately I had a bad reaction to gluten within an hour. This affects me for 24 hours. I can only assume there was some form of cross contamination. This would have been more serious if I was coeliac. Would certainly not recommend this place to anyone with specific dietary requirements. View menu

Lovely quirky tea room perfect for the tourist. Sadly not all the staff are friendly. One lady in particular made us feel like we were an inconvenience. Also noticed her bickering to a Male colleague and also rude to other customers when they entered the tea room. Food is expensive for what you get on a set afternoon tea. Sandwiches were freshly made and very tasty, but the cake was a disappointment out of 3 slices that were ordered by our party. 2 were dry and tasted burnt . We we go back No

The service, pricing, and manager at this restaurant were absolutely terrible. The service was poor as nobody checked in to see if everything was okay. Despite being told that tea refills were included in the afternoon tea, not a single staff member offered a refill. Additionally, the £4.95 price for a pint of flat soft drink that was clearly poured from a bottle was outrageous. When asking for help understanding the menu, a staff member simply told us to pick something. It's unfortunate because we had wanted to try this place for a while, but we will not be returning after this disappointing experience.

The real beauty of this place is certainly on the outside , as you go in then it all changes !! The customer service is poor , admittedly it was rather busy , but the look of dread on the waitresses face said it all as we walked in , anyway luckily we sat downstairs as the toilets are basically on the next level placed directly in the middle of where people are sat having there food , when I used the facilities the stench coming out was dreadful , as I was waiting to use the loo I could over hear the diners commenting on how disgusting it was to be sat eating there meals with the smell of someone’s previous visit to the loo !!…anyway the food is mediocre at best and the prices are high for w... Needed to visit the Bridge Tea rooms as my husband lived here in the 1950's when his grandfather (Lailey) was blacksmith in the town. Exceptional place, as soon as you walk in, you feel like you are back in time with all the young ladies dressed in black dresses with white lace aprons and caps. Two floors to the premises, we had the same table upstairs for our 3 visits. Roy, the owner made us feel very welcome and paid special interest to my husbands memories of his childhood here. Our first visit we had lunch, sandwiches freshly made, and not doorstep bread, as you get in a lot of pubs, with either chips or salad or both. I had a prosecco and my husband a beer. 2nd and 3rd time we had break...

Customer service abysmal. Some training required. Received multiple emails asking us to confirm booking, and making it clear that if we were not on time we would lose our table. We arrived a polite 4 minutes early only to be told our table wasn't ready. We were sent out to stand outside in the rain and told to come back in 10 minutes. When we came back our table still wasn't ready because one of the staff had allowed a couple who had arrived without a booking to sit there while a table was prepared for them. Why weren't they made to stand outside and wait? We had boked for afternoon tea. The scones were really dry and were obviously cheaply made or the previous day's leftovers. When we had f...

"We stayed here ten years ago and thought it was wonderful and worth every penny. We were so excited to return, but really Disapointed. The grounds are lovely and we were pleased with our room. The children loved the outdoor space and the pool What really let us down was the food and service. There was no luxury here. The family dining choices were poor. The children's meal was bad one had fish gougons and sweet potato fries which were very salty. The other two had pizza, the small was served as half a pizza, the large was a conventional round shape. Both were shop bought bases (cardboard) with grated Cheddar on the top. Something I would not feed them at home let alone expect in a supposedly high end dining. My husband's steak was chewy. My main, whole plaice with creamed potatoes, the potato was served in a ceramic dish and it was cold. It was taken away and then took ten minutes to return by which point I had eaten the fish. The food was incredibly expensive considering how poor the offerings were. The next day we ate a very late lunch in Bath so we would not have to eat at the hotel. The breakfast buffet area had some nice items but was really understocked and allowed to run to empty. The staff functioned but not at a steady rate, we found the service slow and the staff disinterested. Such a contrast to our previous visit. The person in charge we found sullen and felt as if our presence was an inconvenience. When we walked through to the dining areas we would hop out of the staff'so way for fear of being bulldozed. When we left the receptionist was polite but did not ask if we enjoyed our stay. A week later I had an email to complete a survey and nobody got in touch despite the same feedback as given here. Very dispointing. Lovely room and surroundings but poor food and poor attitude from staff. Last year we stayed in a hotel that cost 65% less than Wooley Grange and had a much better experience."
