"Out of our 33 days of travel in Europe in 7 different countries, we only had a very few poor dining experiences, and unfortunitely this experience at this restaurant happened to be the worse one.We were driving back to Paris after a day spent at the D Day beaches, and saw this attractive restaurant and decided to pull in and have dinner there. We were seated in a nice dining room. The place was not full at all. Only about 1/3 of the tables were occupied that evening. The young blond lady that waited on us made us feel inferior. It was obvious that she had a position of importance in the restaurant, since she was not only one of the waitresses but she was also the hostess. She spoke French and we worked hard to be gracious and communicate with her in what limited French we knew. We asked for water to drink............since that is really what we wanted that night, and she made a comment to make us feel badly that we only wanted water. The plates were very expensive compared to what we had paid in nicer restaurants downtown in Paris............so we asked about sharing some plates. She understood this, and told us we could not do it and the way she said it made us feel inferier for even asking. (This was the only time in our 33 days in Europe anyone told us we could not share a plate if we did not want a lot of food.)However, she seemed to understand our English quite well when it came to what she did not like such as asking for the water and sharing plates. Somehow she could understand what she wanted to in English. Her attitude was such that after the incident of making us feel inferior for asking for water, we nearly walked out at that point.Everywhere we went in Europe, the waiters or waitresses tried to help us understand the English meaning of their menus. We always tried to use what little bit of the language we knew to help and did that again this night. This lady offered no help. We tried to meet part way in-between with the language, but she was not ready to do that........but yet she was good at understanding our request for water and making us feel inferior and telling us no we could not share a plate and made us feel inferier for even asking. We finally took some guesses and ordered some appetizers since the food was so expensive compared to what we had had in Paris. We hated the food!We were nice to her the whole evening, and I do not know why she treated us this way. They must be used to North American tourists since they are located so close to the D day beaches. This was by far the worse dining experience we had in our 33 days in Europe traveling in 7 different countries.I hate to write this about a place, but we had a miserable experience."

We had a nice evening meal here. The outdoor deck had glass around the outside to keep any wind away. The restaurant was open later than we expected. The food was very good and the service was good. Ask for english menu.

Polite service, but my main dish was a bit dissapointing: almost cold entrecote, cold french fries, the "san peligrino" bottle contained regular/cheaper sparkling water. Desserts were better, Tip: caffe normandy. In total good value for your money.

Very slow service. Daughter ordered a plain burger and this was understood by the waitress. We waited 40 mins for food and burger came with all the trimmings. We didn't have time to change. When it came to paying the waitress spent more time talking to the locals than putting through our order. Over all poor experience. View menu

Stopped for coffee and we were served the worst I have ever had in France. Filtered coffee had that been standing and turned bitter. The staff were absolutely shameless about it - both the waitress and the manageress tried to brazen it out and charged us extra for replacing it with proper coffee. A miserable experience in a region famous for its food and drink.

Our tour guide Philippe brought us here today. He is friends with the owners. First my daughters were overjoyed to play with the owners small cute friendly dog out front. Then we were seated and were surprised by the choices for such a small place. We ordered omelettes which were the fluffiest, most delicious we ever tasted. The desserts were also fantastic - cream puffs and chocolate custard. The owners were super friendly. Highly recommend you stop by if at Omaha Beach.

Having visited this restaurant on our 2012 holiday at Vierville-sur-Mer, we decided to return this year even though we were holidaying further away in Port-en-Bessin. We had enjoyed the lunch time buffet last year and considered it very good value for money. On our first lunch time visit this year, we discovered that it was extremely busy and thought that we might not get a table. We were absolutely amazed that the owner remembered us from last year (probably due to my poor French) and told us that she would have a table prepared for us as soon as she could. Once again, the buffet was excellent value.Knowing that the restaurant wasn't open on Mondays, our last visit was Sunday lunch time, 2 d... View menu

We visited this restaurant on our way to the American Cemetery. We had passed over some restaurants in the Omaha beach area because they looked too touristy and this place looked decent from the outside, with a nice patio in front. The signs outside boasted Normandy specialties and artisan ice creams. The service was friendly enough, but extremely slow. Though there was a decent selection on the menu posted outside the restaurant, there were very few choices on the menu we were given at the table - most were for a set meal that included a buffet for the first course. The buffet looked old and picked over and included things like cold cuts, salads that looked like they were made from yesterda...

The Rodney Boys stopped off here for lunch en route to the American Cemetery in Collville Sur Mer.......and loved it! Where else can you get a hearty 3-course lunch with coffee and wine for around Euros 15 each. Neither the setting, the decor or the ambiance is anything startling. The starter is a self-service choice of a range of cold cuts and salads and some hot meat pastries. We enjoyed the sardines, the pates, the cold meats, salad crudities and the meat pastries immensely for our first visit to the buffet and once again for our second visit! The waitress kept bringing us repeated baskets/sacks of bread, which were devoured (the bread, not the baskets/sacks) within seconds of landing on...
