"Ate here once during a recent visit to Bize. The restaurant has recently changed hands. The room is lovely, with lots of interesting old photos of the village on the walls. There was no-one else in the restaurant when we went in - actually, it was never busy for the whole week we were there... The menu is varied and reasonably priced. Starters of local ham salad and pumpkin velouté were excellent, as was my cod main course. However, my partner's steak required a fair bit of chewing! All in all, it was an alright meal but the atmosphere was sadly lacking. I hope it does get busier because it has the potential to be a very decent restaurant. We may revisit next summer."

Best meal I've ever had here. Food here always good but this was absolutely gorgeous. Guinea fowl with dauphinous potatoes amazing. Friend had veggie option equally blown away. Well done.

Nice resto in centre. 13,5 euro for lunch and you get a plate with a bowl with a small entrée, a main and dessert in same time. Food was good and for the price you get a lot for your money.

Laid back. Excellent service. Mix of locals and tourists. Fabulous local food. We had two menus and a bottle of local wine and it came to seventy odd Euro. Nice portions which left us feeling satisfied.........

Driving through Bize Minervois, we stumbled across this hidden jewel of a restaurant one lunchtime. Great value and tasty food in a beautiful setting right in the heart of the town and worth an effort to find and enjoy.

I had lunch at the Cafe du Midi last week. The news owners have certainly put their own mark on the food. I had the cagette (tray) which was great value for €12.50 - two salads, main (lasagna) and two delicious desserts (clafouti and a lemon/lime mousse). Very reasonable wine can be had by the carafe or bottle. Sadly I forgot to take a photo - not like me at all! My two friends ordered from the menu - both more than happy with their choices. I'll definitely be back.

Had a nice outside table, good for relaxing and watching the world go by. For starters hubby had foie gras salad and I had local goats cheese wrapped in a lovely crispy shell and some salad.I had tasty cod with a red pepper crust with wild rice and black olives. Hubby had rump steak cooked just how he wanted and chips were delicious. We both had trio of desserts with coffee- chocolate fondant, an ice cream and mousse I think, all lovely. Very friendly waiter, anxious to please and spoke some English. Had a little chat to a local with our poor language skills. Lovely night. Good Wine at good price. Had a bottle of wine from a domaine 1.5 km away.

My husband and I were walking round Bize after the market on a Wednesday and found this very attractive restaurant under the old arches by the side of the river. The menu for Eur 12.50 offered a salad with barley, a chevre and tomato toast, duck with potatoes, chocolate mousse and apple tart - plus coffee - so we had to try it! It turned out to be one of the best meals we have had, simple but well cooked and utterly delicious. We ate inside as it was very hot, with a welcome breeze from both overhead and standing fans, but there is also a delightful terrace at the back and attractive seating under umbrellas at the front. We will definitely return for an evening meal.
