"We came here mornings out of our day stay, good value breakfasts, we had the smoked salmon breakfast which was just under euros, with loads of salmon, bread was lovely. We tried the sharing breakfast at over euros which was bread buns, croissant, cooked meats, cheese, salmon, boiled eggs, salad, fruit and yoghurt. I made the mistake of not realising the butter was cut into triangles, which I thought was cheese, soon realised when I bit into it! This comes with either fresh orange or prosecco. You need to be hungry to manage this! We noticed a few people who'd ordered it left quite a bit. Interesting read at the front of the menu, part of the cafe was taken over during the war by the Third Reich, and they converted part of it to a bordello"

we wanted to eat and cook typical German and this place seemed to be the right one. we arrived early in the evening when the place filled, there was live music. the service was efficient and friendly and the food and the beer were good. the device was worn and cuddly and the toilets were somewhat untreated.

I liked the quiet atmosphere when I was there in the morning. the design is retro, with some details for painting. the menu was in order. the breakfast was regular. the service was polite, but very slow. Not good for those who have it in a hurry to go to work or are tourist and have no time to waste ... and the caffe was. far from being full. View menu

we were in the hotel just down the street, so we came twice to the breakfast in cafe hardenberg. the first time I went to the big berliner breakfast (meat, cheese, egg, broth, fruit, jam and honey) that was? tasty and saturating enough to prepare me for the day! at my second visit I had the smaller cheese breakfast, which was delivered with a selection of cheese, fruit, eggs, bread and honey. that eating was really good and I liked the atmosphere of caffe, but I didn't evaluate the caffe? higher than one of the waitresses showed and laughed (not discreet!) after we had ordered our food. I don't know if it was our attempt to speak German, but it was quite repulsive and not inviting!

We were staying just off Ernst Reuter Platz for a few nights and wanted simple good German food. The area has several expensive restaurants, but we found the Cafe although, for British visitors it is what we would call a bar. The food was good...and low price. Euros for a main, with the most expensive being schnitzel at Euro. Ample portions. Euro for a draught larger. Euros for cocktails happy hour where they are Euro. Service was good and very friendly a few attempts in German and they are very welcoming and speak excellent English. We ate there the and nights of our night visit. Wish we had found it on the first night. Recommend! Thank you to Cafe Hardenberg for really lovely evening meals
