"My wife and I stumbled on this place on our walk through downtown Granville, selecting it for our lunch because of its charming appearance and the items on its menu. It was a perfect choice. Specializing primarily in seafood, but offering the usual French lunchtime choices including steak frites (steak with french fries), I went with our amiable waiter's suggestion and selected the moules frites (mussels meuniere with french fries on the side), plus the creamed crab soup. My wife went with the salade nicoise. Both were perfect. All this was washed down with a half bottle of perfect Muscadet. And we enjoyed this at a bistro table outdoors facing the central square of Granville. In sum, a really good choice for lunch, and fully deserving of an "excellent" rating."

Had superb steak tartare and the mussels were excellent too. Kids are very welcome and they have a superb children's menu as well.

A nice place with welcoming staff. Guests around us chose seafood mostly, and so did we. Try the salmon wrapped in some kind of thin pastry, it was really good.

Had a drink late afternoon sitting outside in the Square. Great place. Surrounded by French holiday makers and locals. Not a British voice to be heard - great! Sun shining. French beer. No Brits. What could be better?

Food was excellent both in quantity, quality and value. Service was also first class. We had the midday "menu du jour" - 3 courses at €13 comprising salade parmentier, blanquette de veau and cheesecake (choice for each course). We arrived just after 12 and by 1220 it looked to be full so worth making a booking if you are looking for a late lunch.

We arrived here on a Thursday lunchtime as a party of six. We had reserved a table, which was fortunate as the place was full when we arrived at 1pm. We should have reserved for an earlier time as they had, unfortunately, run out of the interesting looking seafood dish of the day. I had mussels instead, which were ok but rather small and not as good as some I had had in another restaurant a couple of weeks. The other members of the party had omelettes which were good. The service was a bit slow.

We enjoyed the atmosphere here, the music was Soft, not overbearing and the staff were delightful. We had the set menu of salad to start and chicken for the main course, whilst my other friend enjoyed a steak. Two glasses of wine consumed, and there were no complaints about that. The waiter even allowed a small taster to help the choice. The lemon tart dessert was also most enjoyable. What my friends particularly appreciated was the cleanliness within the bathroom area. The seat had a self rotating mechanism which cleans it to a high standard. That impressed us all !

"It was 6pm on a Saturday in Granville and we hadn't booked a dinner table. Before we arrived in town we hadn't appreciated that it was boat show weekend in Granville and the place was rammed with visitors from all over France. Having seen this place's great Tripadvisor reviews, I wandered in off the street at 6.15pm to find they were fully booked. But they nevertheless offered us an early table at 7.15pm, to be finished by 9pm, which suited us fine and was very much appreciated by a hungry family of four. The location is unpromising - behind a large public parking area opposite the industrial fish shed on the port - and the restaurant looks small and not particularly special. The interior is fairly dark and subdued, but has been stylishly refurbished. We found the the welcome, the service and the food well beyond expectations. The set menu consisted of about five choices for each course. We all opted to take all three courses for €32. Most of the courses are seafood-based, as you'd hope and expect. Our starters were excellent - two crab and two smoked bass - and the main courses equally good. We both had grilled turbot, perfectly cooked, while our kids (10 and 12) had steaks which were of very high quality. We shared four different superb desserts. The wine list was quite small but with a decent range. We had the chef's recommended St Romain at €34 which worked really well with the fish dishes. The service was attentive and friendly throughout, and our kids felt very welcome. One point to note - an earlier review mentions a kid's menu. In fact the only menu available to us was the standard set menu. This worked fine for us, but if your kids are still building their sense of culinary adventure, it might not be the ideal place for you! We really enjoyed this place and we'll definitely be back."
