"Was down to ardrossan visiting family with the kids, thought I would pop down to the plaza for some tea since I haven't been in a few year got two fish and chips and couple bag of chips for the kids. The fish was raw and chips were stale. Fish was near enough flapping about in the papers. Felt that bad I had to release it to ardrossan harbour! AND TO MAKE THINGS WORST THE SEAGULLS GOT IT BEFORE MAKING IT TO THE SEA #ANGRYFACE #PLAZAISSTINKING #HATESEAGULLS #CRYINGKIDS THANKS PLAZA KIDS CRYING NOW!!!! P.S haven't been able to get off the toilet since #toiletblocked"

Door handle filthy. No excuse for this. Server who gave me ice cream had an uncovered cut on her finger. Won’t be back.

Called into this cafe this morning for a tea break and was impressed with selection on offer and the friendly staff. Will definitely be back.

Good tasty quick food, and something for everyone on the menu! I’ve used here for many years from the breakfast items to the chippy stuff everything is delicious!

Just walked in and placed my order. The fish was just getting put into the fryer. Only waited a short time and my order was ready. Very pleasant staff and a great fish supper. View menu

This restaurant review is not very favorable. It seems that the staff were only interested in themselves and not in serving the customers. The reviewer found this behavior shocking and was not impressed.

I frequently order from this restaurant, sometimes twice a day! The food is usually delicious and they offer a wide variety of desserts and ice creams to choose from. You can dine in or take your food to go. Overall, it's a great little cafe/chip shop that is always bustling with activity.

Worst fish and chips I’ve experienced in a long time. Batter was hard and dripping with oil, fish was thin without a decent bite to it. Despite asking for extra salt and vinegar there was scant taste of either. Possibly dispenser not working. Altogether not just a tasteless but an unpleasant experience. Very poor. View menu

this is for the chippy.i think it depends on which staff are on to determine a good meal or service.went in today, got ignored as the 2 girls chatted, one decided to drink her juice rather than come and serve.seems more of a female youth club at times.love idea of youngsters working but they need standards to maintain.fish wasnt the best compared to usual

I have been a loyal customer of this restaurant for many years now, often visiting 2 or 3 times a day. This speaks volumes about the quality of the food. The menu offers a great variety, from fish and chips to sandwiches and desserts. The staff are friendly, helpful, and always willing to assist. Personally, I adore the black pudding suppers - they are outstanding!

"We were a party of 5, on a cold, very wet Saturday evening, coldest so far I would say! We drew up and saw a young family of 3 sitting with jackets on in the conservatory area, we were a bit concerned! We took a...seat at the back of the conservatory which proved to be a big mistake! There was a terrible draught coming from behind me, I did mention it and was told it was 27c at the middle of the room, but not where we were sitting!! I mentioned it a few times and sat with my shawl scarf on throughout! I pulled down the window blinds hoping that would help, nope!! We ordered our food, I asked about a vegetarian option for my husband, our waitress did say he could a veggie option on the curry and the tempura or risotto, which was helpful! I had to ask what was the soup of the day and also the pate!! I did feel that maybe in this day and age there should have been a small dedicated vegetarian area on the menu, but that’s just my opinion! 3 of our party had starters which were great, Cullen skink, scallops and langoustine tempura, Main courses arrived, 3 fish and chips, one lemon soul and one veggie tempura, all were excellent except for the veggie tempura which was large shards of onion and carrot in an albeit lovely batter, but not all vegetarians like huge chunks of vegetables! 4 of our party had a sticky toffee pudding with vanilla ice cream, which was plentiful! Overall we had a pleasant meal, little or no atmosphere though, one of the younger waitresses (white shirt, black skirt) was friendly and more talkative, the waitress (dressed all in black)who served us was, we all felt a little disinterested and lacked any empathy with the guests! We asked for our bill, the youngest waitress came with the card machine and felt how cold it was only then did she check the windows to find there was one opened, hence the draught, which spoiled our visit because we were felling it cold!! We paid the bill and left a tip on the plate, no one came to say thank you for you custom, or have a nice evening, nothing!! All in all it was pretty inhospitable! Value you for money, it was good for the standard of the food!"
