"The premise of the visit was the connection to truffles. Upon our arrival we were informed that none of the menu items with truffle were available as they had a large lunch crowd. Very disappointing. Nevertheless we remained and enjoyed the beef carpaccio which had a nice arugula and apple topping but was overdressed with a sauce that overshadowed the delicate taste of the meat. The two pasta dishes we had were delicious. The Piti with a deep red meat sauce and the Tortelli with four beautifully stuffed shells in a heavy parmesian cheese sauce were thoroughly consumed. We finished with the chocolate and orange tort which was probably the most amazing dessert I have had in Florence, as well as a cheesecake. They offered decaffeinated cappuccino, which we also enjoyed that were creamy, smooth and tasty. Service overall was nicely done present but unobtrusive. The dinner went from a bad start to a strong finish. If you are planning to go to enjoy any of their truffle menu items, would suggest calling ahead to make sure they actually have truffle in the kitchen. — La premessa della visita era il legame con i tartufi. Al nostro arrivo siamo stati informati che nessuna delle voci di menu con tartufo era disponibile perché c'era una grande folla per il pranzo. Molto deludente. Tuttavia siamo rimasti e ci siamo goduti il carpaccio di manzo che aveva una bella guarnizione di rucola e mele ma era condito con una salsa che offuscava il sapore delicato della carne. I due piatti di pasta che avevamo erano deliziosi. I Piti con un sugo di carne rosso intenso ei Tortelli con quattro conchiglie ben ripiene in una salsa di parmigiano pesante sono stati completamente consumati. Abbiamo terminato con la torta al cioccolato e arancia che è stato probabilmente il dessert più incredibile che abbia mai avuto a Firenze, oltre a una cheesecake. I read Corinna Cook's book and she said the Caffe Pitti is the first place she visits in Florence so we did the same. It was fabulous, the truffle meal was unbelievably delicious and just looking at the Pitti Palace was beautiful. View menu

Great little restaurant with very friendly staff. The evening of 30th December so it was probably quieter than normal otherwise really great little restaurant. definitely worth a visit. Very busy at lunchtime with tourists due to its location.
