"The Castle Coaching Inn is a fantastic place to stop for food in Trecastle. Its on the main road from Sennybridge to Llandovery (easy to find We were lucky enough to be staying nearby so had the opportunity to finally check this place out ..Its a hotel that comprises of a small and cosy bar area, plus it has a large formal restaurant. I believe that you can have your food in the bar if there's room, but it was quite busy therefore we sat in the restaurant. The restaurant menu had a lot of choice on it, but we preferred having a bar meal instead which were on the Specials Board. We both chose the Chicken Madras and it was honestly the best Chicken Madras I've ever had. The Chicken just fell apart, and the sauce was just perfect. Loved it! It was a perfect meal to warm us up after a walk on the Black Mountains. For a Saturday night it was quite quiet, but that's what we liked about it. It was perfect for us"

we have the meals we had and would recommend when they are over. Unfortunately, the business seemed to be selling.

pretty bland food at a high price. nice staff and pub, but can not recommend restaurant, that is not a more comfortable or pleasant place to dinate. View menu

My girlfriend and I stopped off here as it was local to our holiday cottage the evening we arrived. Staff were very friendly. We both had the steak and ale pie. Perfect fluffy pastry and top quality meat served piping hot. View menu

had a nice meal with friends in a busy Saturday night. large selection options in the menu as well as a selection for special areas. I had the lamb on a bed of lax and potato masque and the lamb was very tender and tasty....Gravy and maische were excellent. eat accompanied by a single Veg dish that had good variety and well cooked. without pudding could not create it, and the brot and the butter pudding with custard not disappointed! custard with vanilla in and damp eibrot and butter pudding. the whole group enjoyed their meal and there was nothing left on the plates, although the portions were generous. we will all return very soon.

We were staying in the area and had booked a table in advance as we brought a dog with us. John was very prompt in replying to queries and, as promised, an excellent table was reserved for us by the roaring fire, with ample room...for adults to eat and the dog to stretch in comfort. Following a warm welcome, we were served promptly by a very professional gentleman who took time to go over the order to make sure as we had been changing our minds a lot! The food was served very promptly and did not just look splendid, it was also delicious and of generous portions. Some of us even managed to stretch to dessert. Thank you for a super time and beautiful food.
