"We had the satay, spring rolls, roti canai, char kway teow and beef kerisik which were 90% similar in taste to what you would get in Malaysia - perfect for people who have never been to Malaysia! However, having been to similar restaurants in New York (Nyonya) and London (Rasa Sayang, Satay House Malaysian restaurant), I find the prices at Champor very overpriced (e.g. 24€ for "char kway teow", a type of flat broad noodles, and 14€ for 5 satay sticks). We were also charged extra for the "curry dip" which came with the roti canai, which was not made known to us when we ordered a piece of the flatbread. With 2 and a half starters, 2 mains and 3 non-alcoholic drinks, our total bill came up to 100€ for 2 people. Ambience was classy (though it doesn't reflect the true Malaysian food experience) and hospitality was great, but only if you love every single aspect of the dining experience. We overheard the hostess shouting, "If they can't wait, they should leave", presumably because of a customer's complaint about the long waiting time for the food. Not sure about the tone and attitude of the customer's complaint in the first place but am certain this response does not make things better. I loved the food but upon jokingly lamenting that there were no cockles in the fried noodles (which is a key ingredient in char kway teow but I did realise that it may be difficult to get the ingredient in Munich), the hostess first said that she disliked the shellfish before adding that one gets hepatitis from eating it (fact: only if the shellfish is not cleaned and cooked properly will one run the risk of viral infection from eating shellfish). A simple "we don't like this shellfish and hence we don't add it in our food" and a smile would have suffice. We wanted to order dessert after we finished our main courses but were told that the kitchen was closed though we had not been informed about the kitchen closing / placing last orders. Having seen the Management's reaction to customers' feedback in the restaurant and responses to other reviews, I know that any less-than-positive review will surely earn a scathing response from their Management. I would however like to mention that if you have never been to Southeast Asia and/or never will, this is a nice restaurant to splurge on authentic Malaysian food."

Scharf heißt echt scharf, was uns gefällt. View menu

Whoever has craving for Asian nasi campur, this is the place to go, friendly host and owner Kiren, she is very accommodating on our demands and requests. Dont forget to try the sago dessert as they taste excellent after all the delicious spicy food. This place however, does not provide halal food, so to anyone who is particular about this, just order the seafood.

View menu

We ate here as a group of 6. The hostess was very welcoming, informative and provided her recommendations in English. The decor is very nicely done, lovely glassware and all the food was very well presented. We ordered individual starters ranging from the chilli wantans (so good) to the butter prawns. Everyone spoke very highly of the starters so next time I will definitely be trying the signature platter so I can sample them all. For the main courses we all went for different dishes again and we were informed by the hostess that 'spicy' at Champor really means 'spicy', this should definitely be acknowledged! All the dishes looked and tasted very fresh, the clay-pot beef was exploding with f...

Was soll ich sagen. Es war extrem lecker. Zum niederknien. Die Schärfe war...

"Indian restaurants are becoming almost as ubiquitous in Munich as Italian restaurants lately, or so it would seem. So why did I give this one get 5 stars? In part because Yelp doesn't allow for half star ratings and I didn't feel right giving four after my wonderful dinner experience there and the excellent meals my guy has had there before me. Kamasutra is close to his work and we had dinner here after him and work friends raved about this place for lunch. They've only been open for about three months but it's a regular lunch stop for them now. One thing I noticed early on, they do not take shortcuts. Great care is put into food and service. The menu is varied, good selection of wine and cocktails too. Service was friendly and attentive from start to finish. The interior is more modern and sleek than most Indian resto's. But what about the FOOD? We were in curry heaven. I had a jumbo shrimp curry and he had a chicken vindaloo. Sauces for both were rich, had complex, nuanced flavors and were not greasy or oily. And when they say spicy, they mean spicy, so for those of you lamenting the lack of proper spice level, make your way here NOW. If you don't want your curry toned down for the German palate, do have some here. Lovely garlic naan, very generous serving of good basmati. Delicious mango cream for dessert and real chai that wasn't syrupy sweet. Kamasutra is a real gem and a welcome addition to Munich."
