"We visited the Comedor on a whim to try have something a bit different. We had eaten at some steakhouses in London and as an Australian are quite spoilt for good cuts of beef which had become apparent throughout the week. This was the first place I was completely overwhelmed with the quality of meat and the spectacular cooking. The service was a bit slow to start but as there were only 2 waitresses available we gave them some leniency on that. The staff were friendly and respect the meat when one of our companions ordered a particular cut of meat to be done well done' she told him that will become very tough and suggested a cheaper cut which would benefit more from his preferred cooking...read more"

Awful. 13 of us had the £1.... Awful. 13 of us had the £15 menu last night. The pork belly starter was gristly, the stuffed calamari was uneatable, absolutely vile, and the ice-cream sorbet' was 3 scoops of cheap vanilla ice-cream. Cheap, yes, but it really should be edible.

Great steaks and more!. Eaten at quite a few steak restaurants in my life and this one is up there. The flavour is awesome...not to mention the starters are great too. Pity about the other bad review on here, but eaten here a few times and the food, service, presentation has always been great.

Comedor Grill and Bar is unintrusive and you could walk past if you weren't headed there intentionally. I had booked ahead, as off the back of the recent World Cup Brazilian frenzy I had heard great things about South American steak. Billed as an Argentine Restaurant, serving a range of classic and modern South American dishes we were quite literally drooling over the many cuts of steak available on the menu

excellent place, cozy atmosphere and delicious food. order the ceviche and the bark carpaccio as starter. the Provoletta cheese is good, but a little sharp and itchy in mouth. the filet is really delicate and tasty, the ribeye on a bone steak is a must, the picana is really good, juicy and tender and the asado di tira is its speciality! as far as dessert is concerned, they take the Dulce tea. I recommend the restaurant very much!

My colleague took me here to try this new place. He was regular here. We were welcomed by the staff very nicely. Menu was good and everything looked great. I ordered the churrasco steak and it was very big in terms of portions. It tasted great; fresh and juicy. It was very nicely cooked. I enjoyed having it. Wines we had with meals were great. Amazing wine list and all the items were good. We didn’t have any complaints. We would definitely visit this place again.

I like comedor for four reasons. it is so ideal for anticipation to eat before the islington assembly hall. it has burger. it has foie grass. it is a good value for money. it's next to a karoeke bar. I think they get the general mood I dig. a lot of fun at my last visit, all these four things factored. my hos had a burger. I had steak with foie gras up. we visited jake isaacs gig and ended the night with a badly advised karaoke session. in a school night, not good. but yes, actually it was funny and I would do it again.

that could be my favorite place for a great steak in london. Last night immersed in dinner with my wife and treated with a seriously tasty eating, accompanied by first-class service from a team that took her time to explain the smallest details. dinge, we had 1 x comedor negroni possibly the most powerful drink I've ever tasted. Maybe the only thing I don't enjoy 1 x mojito beautiful, refreshing and well executed wein catena alba malbec. perfect starter, bark carpaccio and ceviche. the carpaccio was so good. it is as if the bark just melted in the mouth and the ceviche was full of great aromen mains, I was really hungry and decided to...read more

There seems to be a recent trend of refurbishment among the restaurants along the Islington Upper Street. Restaurants, which we thought are new turned out to have been given a makeover. The stretch opposite Islington Town Hall sit two such examples The Brasserie and Comedor Grill and Bar . Other than Wahaca , which has been my default lunch venue in Canary Wharf, I have not really come across any South American cuisine in London that has blown me away. Obviously, I'm no expert in it but Luiz at London Foodie has provided a rather comprehensive top South American restaurants in London , which I would definitely refer to in the new year. Is the restaurant new Wife asked the...read more
