"I only had half an hour to spare and found myself in Whitstable Harbour. I parked my car and decided to grab a coffee and a snack. As I walked past the boats unloading their catches, mainly whelks, I noticed a new building and took some photos before heading to The Luke to place my order. The sound of the sea was soothing as I waited for someone to serve me, but the service was slow despite the restaurant being quite busy. The tables were clean but empty, and the prices seemed high for what I received - just a coffee and some snacks in a plastic bag with plastic utensils and a paper napkin. I was disappointed with the environmental impact. I complained to my friends about how much better seafood was at the county fair in Medway and decided to finish my coffee by the water before heading back to my car. Overall, I was left wondering if the restaurant thought I was on vacation or just passing through."

I had the worst experience at a restaurant in a long time. The service was terrible.

We came across the Crab and Winkle by chance while exploring Whitstable. This place is really cool!

What a shame it used to be so good! The batter was awful like fish covered in undercooked Yorkshire pudding! So disappointed, probably won't go back!

This is an amazing restaurant with beautiful harbor views. However, they specialize in fish and seafood dishes, so if you're in the mood for steak, this may not be the place for you. View menu

The Crab and Winkle Resturant were no longer there as they burned down a month before. Very sad for them, but we had to phone around to find a booking somewhere else, as we were not reported.

I bought pieces of chips as they looked beautiful from the far away. they ended up as terrible frozen chips that were at the limit of the boil. they also use plastic everything for packaging. please go somewhere else and support them a better local business.

staff friendly, quick service, cooked to order, no table service, plenty of places to sit inside or out, we sat outside as nice warm day, food delicious, hot, most enjoyable, have a great time, would highly recommend, suitable for mobility scooters or wheelchair access View menu

we had a quick meal here on the way to another destination. a person in our group wanted really fish and chips in the harbour, so this meets our requirements. service was jovial and friendly. the food was about enough and there was a small room where we could eat while we were hiding from the wind!

I visited Whitstable with my mom a year ago to visit the fish market and we would always arrive early for some delicious breakfast at a bungalow. Fast forward to now, I have booked a few days in this fish harbor with my friend. I told him about the amazing seafood and the famous dumplings we would have for breakfast. "Oh, if only they still sold them," he said. But now they do, and they are as delicious and beautiful as I remembered. This is definitely the best breakfast in the city, no contest. You must try the dumplings for breakfast.

"I used to come here regularly, however on the last visit I noticed something massively with the way it was run both in terms of the food quality and the service levels. We came in as a group of 4 adults and 3 toddlers. Ordered coffees and a few burgers and some prawns on toast. For the most part, the food was good except for 2 of the burgers which were far too overcooked and the guys who ordered ended up only being able to eat a few bites out of them. We informed the waitress who was clearing the table about this. When we went to pay, we said to the waitress at the till that we thought that the 2 burgers should be taken off the bill as they weren’t eaten (the total bill would have still come to over £80) The waitress then went straight to the manager who came over to ask what the problem was. When we told him we were given a response of “well, I’ve had the food here and I can tell you that it’s incredible”. When we said that the burgers were far too overcooked (one beef and one chicken burger) he just said that the chicken has to be cooked through. After arguing that it was just too overcooked and dry, he simply walked away and told the waitress only to remove one of the burgers. I’m not usually one to give poor reviews, but the attitude of the manage alone was completely unacceptable. Having worked in catering and customer service, it is your responsibility to listen to the feedback of your customers, and not to be arrogant or rude. I do hope that no one else is unlucky enough to be faced with this kind of situation, but this was enough for all of us to never return to this place."
