"Went here for tea with my hubby and mother in law on a weekend trip to Durham , the food was lovely couldn't fault it ,the staff were extremely friendly and so was a couple of locals who we spoke too I'd recommend this cosy pub for a meal or even just a few drinks . The dog was welcome he loved the attention . Thanks for a very friendly experience"

Really lovely 3 course meal mid-afternoon. Great quality home cooked food and reasonable prices too. Could have done with a little more veg as it was served separately but a minor thought.

We stayed in Hamsterley for a week on holiday so we ended up having 5 meals here. Spoilt for choice on the menu and all homemade. Would definitely recommend. Staff were very friendly and welcoming.

Fantastic place, recommendation from camping and caravan site we were staying at. So glad we came to dine here. Fantastic food, staff, atmosphere, beer and beer garden will 100% go again when we visit the area again

Prawn salad sandwich, tuna salad sandwich were both really full and very fresh, scampi and chips were lovely with chunky chips, friendly staff and also dog friendly pub, cosy pub, great after a nice walk. Price per person: £10–20
