"We had a wonderful evening from start to finish. We started with a cocktail which arrived quickly and very much enjoyed. We all ate different things, gnocchi squid and pigeon for starters. Generous portions, piping hot, really good. Then came steak, sole and hake. Again perfect portion size, beautifully presented and incredibly tasty. Not much room for dessert, but the pannacotta was a perfect choice to slip down the sides! Delicious and light. Service was attentive and professional, the ambiance was lovely and given that it was the last service of the season the standards did not slip in any way. We look forward to dining here again next year."

"Eaten there twice previously and never managed to book a table in the restaurant. Booked this time via Open table a week in advance so was really disappointed when we arrived and was told no reservation exsisted even tho I had the reservation in my emails? Although the guy found us a table in the bar, we were often missed due to where we were sat (between two pillars). Service was pretty dire although polite. Offered a desert menu after the starter,???mains turned up and no cutlery, we had to request a drink after being seated for over 10 mins because we were never asked initially. All in all a very disappointing experience where by sitting in the bar you felt like second class compared to the restaurant guests. The whole reason we booked a table was to avoid this kind of thing. Almost certainly will never recommend or return."

"Longstone is situated a 30-minute walk from Hugh Town, with a small car park available. It is a great spot for families with young children, offering swings, a climbing frame, and a spacious play area. The restaurant has plenty of tables with sun shades for outdoor dining. The menu is similar to other cafes on the island and our order was promptly delivered. Accessibility may be challenging for those with mobility issues. The food was fresh and reasonably priced, with their crab sandwiches being a standout item."

"Brought her by friends for a really great evening meal.A lovely old farm house turned into a delightful pub with restaurant deep in the Cornish countryside on the edge of Bodmin moor.We ate mainly from the fish offerings which were beautifully fresh and presented with delicious saucing.There is a small but good wine list at reasonable prices,I am also told there are excellent local beers.The scallops were wonderful as was the hake main course. Indulgent puds were also on offer. This place is well worth finding and is not over priced for the quality it offers"

"This place could so easily rely on it's setting to get people through the door and I don't think too many people would complain if they did. It is truly idyllic! But, it turns out the food is quite superb. I had the lamb curry often a risky move in a pub but it was sensational. As agreed by three in our group who also had it. Slow cooked to perfection and delicately spiced. Beautiful. The desserts looked pretty lovely too although I was content to just got for another beer and sip it whilst taking in the sunset."
