"To take into account: a place where it is considered impolite to ask the waitress repeatedly and politely to please take one of the BIG dogs from the table that bothered, by sucking and approaching a newborn several times born. For future visitors, also keep in mind that the owner, without being present in the conversation, will directly accuse you of being rude. Too bad you don 't demand the same from your service, who has been the only one who has disrespected us with bad answers. In fact, as the owner usually says, La Vereda is not our place. It is not a place for educated people who understand that although there are animals (what they do not warn you is that you will have to share a table with them), in some circumstances they can also bother you. We won 't be back and we don 't recommend it. PS: The waiters touch the dogs and then serve the dishes without washing their hands first. Very hygienic...."

"Nos lo habían recomendado porque la carne era magnífica. Y así fue. También nos dijeron que era como un Mcdonalds venido a más, y en cuanto al ambiente y servicio, así lo es: no hay servicio de mesas, tienes que hacer cola para pedir y llevarte la bandeja a una mesa libre, si es que la hay. Era sábado noche y había mucha gente, niños corriendo, etc. La cola va rápida y es barato para la calidad que ofrecen. La carne es muy buena, aunque mi acompañante se encontró huesecillos en el bacon. Es muy recomendable, especialmente si no vas en sábado noche."

"I have been told that the service is not always congenial. I can't know if this is true, but our service exceeded all usual expectations. We visited just after the new year, with extended family, and each person at our table selected a different dish. Every dish was amazing--cooked just right. Together they ran the gamut of rich and flavorful--each delicious in that way that makes you think you might have dreamed the dish once before sometime, and had simply forgotten that you had. While the dishes we had tended to be on the deeper side of rich (from the outstanding lemon cream on the hake, to the sweet fruited drizzle over the wild boar), each boasted its own panoply of subtle tastes working together to achieve an exceptional end result. The wine selection, while not inexpensive, was equal to, and complementary to, the food. I must admit that part of our extended family are also close friends, and that may have colored our experience (adding a positive dimension that it otherwise might not have had), but I have visited enough restaurants to know when one is good under any circumstances. In spite of the presence of dear friends, and the fantastic conversation and connection (that really is the point of such a visit), I believe that this restaurant would be judged excellent under any circumstances. One always seeks the kind of dining place that consistently excites and excels, finding ever new ways to deliver familiar foods, dressed in new grandeur, to the palate. This is one of those places. If you find yourself in Riaza, even for an afternoon, it would be a tremendous waste not to visit La Porticada and see for yourself. Highly recommended. Credit cards accepted. Can become extremely busy."

"Ya conocía este restaurante, aunque hacía muchos años que no lo visitaba. Si recordaba un cordero asado estupendo, no me ha decepcionado en absoluto. Tierno, sabroso, jugoso y riquísimo, en definitiva. Pedimos un variado castellano, con morcilla de Burgos, chorizo y torreznos, que también estaba muy bien, así como la ensalada y los postres (donde no pudo faltar el ponche segoviano). Habra que repetir, sin dejar pasar tanto tiempo."
