"it was guardia civil Day and we went to watch, then came down the rain so we ducked into serrano at lease we can watch the beginning of the parade and be dry.the guardia gathered outside looking resplendent in their uniforms.when thy got to the church one of them carried a large bouquet of flowers which they p laced on the alter I didn't realize the religious attachments to the day, after about an hour we all made our way ack to the quartel where the public and busesses had donated a mountain of food and drink,eveyone tuckd in with gusto.after all the speeches visitrs had a drink prior to eventual leaving, what a day, what an experience."

"¡¡Si vaís nos dejéis de pedir su fantástico cocido maragato!! El restaurante Casa Maragata II se encuentra en el centro de Astorga, concretamente justo detrás del Ayuntamiento y al lado del Museo Romano, en la calle Padres Redentoristos en el número 6. Su especialidad como en la mayoría de los restaurantes de Astorga es el cocido maragato que se come al revés de lo que todo el mundo lo hace, aquí empiezan primero con la carne, después garbanzos con berza y por último se toma la sopa (si se puede claro jejeje... . Aquí el cocido maragato tiene un precio de 18,00 euros. Un consejo si tenéis previsto venir a Astorga y probar su famoso cocido maragato, si no hacéis reserva os costaría muchísimo encontrar un hueco donde pillar sitio, así que mi recomendación reservar mesa. Este restaurante dispone de otro local en la ciudad de Astorga el Casa Maragata I, que se sitúa cerca de la catedral."

"We went to dinner without reservation. We were offered a table with the condition of leaving it free before 22:30 (1 hour and a half for dinner.) we enjoyed a couple of original burgers of good meat, good and crunchy bread and good quality/price. the very kind and helpful staff from the beginning. I wouldn't hesitate to return to this place."

"We ate here twice and were impressed by both the service and quality of the food. The head waiter was very friendly and accomodating, whilst also very tolerant of our primitive Spanish. We had a good value and satisfying menu del dia on one day steak in my case and fish for my wife great. On another day I simply wanted a cheese and onion sandwich (you know what it is like when there is something that you simply HAVE to eat? and it was spot on together with a nice cold glass of beer. A tuna salad did the trick for my wife. A great place to stop for a cheap and satisfying lunch."
