"The restaurant is one of at least three Italian-style restaurants in the immediate vicinity, so competition for customers is elated. The food is very good and the service friendly and quick. It's very popular with the locals so I'd recommend making a reservation...if you decide to visit. Many of the standard Italian dinners are on offer and the food is what I would consider average. It's a good meeting place for drinks with friends before a night out or just sit outside and enjoy the sunset with a glass of wine. If given a choice I would choose one of the many other Italian restaurants in St George. Parking here is in a neighborhood and a premium. Driving is not recommended."

Excellent quality food. Great salad followed by the best steak I've had in a while. Good service topped off by a fine espresso.

Got pasta bolognaise, the worst kind i ever had. Pasta was undercooked, and the sauce was bland and tasted not good. Service no good - stay away....

We come here every once in a while. Food is always good and authentic. Today I had the saltimbocca- very good. The other people in our group were also very satisfied. Staff was very nice with the kids. Will return.

Been a few times, really enjoy the food and the ambiance in this restaurant. Had another pleasant evening, would always recommend ... and recommend to reserve as it is generally pretty difficult to get a table, especially on weekend evenings. View menu

2 dinners and a lunch in 4 days, all of them excellent. The food was really good and came often "piping hot". The service was very good and the prices are moderate. Noted were a great many of the guests spoke Italian, and the restaurant was packed for lunch and late dinners.

We visited this restraurant for dinner as a family 3 adults plus 2 children. Food was very tasty, winelist well prepared. Restaurant was full, but we reserved table in advance. The only problem was with service. Our waiter (Italian) was friendly, but didn't understand german...and english very well, so we got some different meal than ordered. It was minor problem.

Nice big terrace, good service and good price. The food was what you would expect from a standard Italian restaurant. I had a salad and pasta but others eat the pizza which I will try next visit. Only negative point was that I... ordered the Amarone Delma Valpolicella and it was average to say the least I would not order this bottle again. It doesn't matter if I return! View menu

We went here every 2-3 weeks over the past few years and had almost everything from the menu. Definitenely one of the best pizzas in town. Service is not always the friendliest but that's the genuine italian experience ; Try truffel pasta and you won't...be disappointed. Always packed, try to book a table in advance. Long term customers might get a space at Franco s family table.

My experince here left me with mixed emotions. For starters the service was somewhat confused 2 waiters would ask us the same questions within minutes of each other and than we would be left alone for extended periods. Knowing my dislike of warm red...wine my colleague had informed the restaurant up front to cool 2 bottles of red wine to 18C. Upon our arrival we were then served 10-12C cold red wine....well at least they tried. The scallops we had as starters were extremely oily and with chili peppers which completely dominated the delicate taste of the scallops. The lamb to follow was however excellent! bathrooms are small and not very clean...

"There's always a question (in my mind, anyway) as to Michelin's accuracy/usefulness outside of France. In the US, it's not very helpful at all and in Europe ex-France, I've found it hit and miss. Haerlin represented only my second stab at a two-star in Germany and the first meal (Heinz Winkler), while a thoroughly wonderful overall experience, felt like the second star might have been a stretch. Not so at Haerlin, this was a two-star meal that stands fork-to-fork with any I can remember. The food is stylized to within an inch of its life, but close to flawless in both conception and execution. Outside of a large selection of generally unremarkable breads and a luke-warm roasted onion broth added to an amuse at table side that probably should have been hotter, the meal was simply one perfect dish after another. Maybe the sorbet intermezzo was a little old school in such a fashion forward meal, but - hey - it was delicious! Keep it.The room is suitably formal, luxurious in a traditional style, and quite comfortable. The pace of service might be a little leisurely for some (I ate alone and the four-course menu (seven + courses, including amuses, etc) pushed it a bit, stretching just over three hours. However, the friendly and attentive staff kept an eye out the entire time and stopped by if the time between courses presented the opportunity. The somm, in particular, was a great diversion, visiting from time to time to discuss the varied and interesting wines on offer. He provided useful insight into the outstanding selection of trocken Rieslings on the list. He guided me to a 2001 Burklin-Wolf GG that, at Eu 150, was both a great bottle of mature white and a tremendous value for a wine of this quality in this type of restaurant. (Good luck finding a white burgundy of this quality at this price at any multi-star restaurant - or at retail, for that matter.) He also suggested a wonderful German Pinot Noir by the glass that worked perfectly with the meat course and wasn't terribly expensive. The list is extensive, but not the tome you see at some restaurants, but don't be fooled - wine service at Haerlin is both a major plus and represents notable value in the context of multi-star restaurants.I'm not going to argue two-star vs three-star because that distinction often seems to be kind of mysterious (and tangentially related to the food), but I will say that this place certainly deserves two stars. I had just a flat-out great meal. If you can work in a visit, Haerlin should be high on your list."
