"Adorable cafe, and definitely a diamond in the ruff! According to the lady at the next table over, these are the best scones in southern England, and although my scone expertise is not as extensive as hers, they were delicious. The tea was excellent, too, and the staff was friendly (and knowledgeable on the correct order of clotted cream, jam, etc. . The scones were massive and each order came with two scones and a large pot of tea, so with four of us we only needed two orders. I wish I could go back a second time!"

I went here with my family for afternoon tea and it was delicious. The staff was friendly and fast. The scones and tea were fantastic and reasonably priced for the portions given.

This afternoon cream tea was one of the finest I’ve ever had. Clean and bright atmosphere and attentive staff. Scones came warm and tall, with luxurious Devonshire cream and black currant jam. You deserve it! View menu

Booked Fig restaurant for special family meal the night before our son's wedding in the area. Son had crab cakes which gave him food poisoning; up all night and big day ruined. This place should be shut down; a total disgrace. Food: 1 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3

"rebooked the garden space in the dormy house during the stay near the fish hotel. the environment was very warm and welcoming, and overall eating was very good. but the service was lacking and made us confused by reconciliation. In view of the thoughtful and extensive weinlist we could see one of our favourite mixes from South Africa on the menu. after ordering, and about 15 minutes later, the server back to say there was a mistake, and they put the wrong varietal on the list and wanted to serve us a completely différent wein from this manufacturer. we ordered another bottle in harmony with the food we ordered. but our appetizers came before our wine. wait another 15 minutes (we are now 30 minutes in our dinner without wine) and the waiter comes with another bottle saying that they have lost our bottle, but for us to drink this while we wait. no explanation and not even the wine she poured. that was the last thing we saw from our waiter, because somehow the room was busy and she took the other guests for the rest of the night. we finally got our wee who was brought to the table without the cork. strange practice to get a restaurant of this caliber. when we finished our dessert, we fought for 20 minutes to get every server to recognize us or to delete our records. So we went to the server station to ask for the bill. we have observed our server work at least seven different tabs before we had to go up a second time. when the bill came, the server did not even ask us how our dinner was. we gave our credit card and the other server took it away. she returned 10 minutes later to say that she lost the connection. she gave us the card back and canceled the processing statement and said she couldn't charge our card. she did not know what to do and asked if we were with him at the reception (even if we were not guests of the hotel) will not return."
