"An absolute gem of a place, selling wonderful food that is both healing and indulgent in a calm, relaxed little canteen. A small piece of constructive criticism is that it would be good if the waiter knew a little more about the food, maybe spend a bit more time tasting and explaining ingredients before service. Pop up style restaurant that operates Thursday to Saturday providing interesting Japanese style food. A real feast of flavours in a casual environment. Great service from helpful staff. Can't wait to be there again on future visit to Totnes.

We had a delightful dinner at Taguchi-Ya in Totnes. We loved the set menu of the day, which you can find details of on the chalk board when you enter. We also shared some small plates and kimchi. The meal was finished with a delicious glass of umeshu that had a plum inside.

the first time we ordered from here, it was not disappointing. they currently offer food or take pizzas only on Monday evenings. no blonde pizzas, all have a tomato mozzarella base. pizzas offered daily. we had 2 of the latter gam peppermons (with extra artichoke) my man had fig blue cheese with extra nduja. we're going back.

visits here with my wife and. wow! real authentic Japanese cuisine so hard to find outside of london, but a hidden gem here in devon. can not recommend very enough. we had the set menu (similar teriyaki and fish,) gyoza on the side, the matcha sundae and milcheis with sesame and roasted rice sakura black tee is also recommended. great!
