Forest Fence - Menu

Great place for a drink and catch up (if not a bit pricy). We drink here quite often but don’t usually eat so decided to have a meal this time. We both had the special, mine a chicken and chorizo pie which was beautiful, very filling. My husband had the special pizza which was also beautiful. Staff are always really friendly,

I went to the restaurant with my partner and found the service to be fantastic from our server, Hope, and the manager who was wearing a shirt with glasses. My partner enjoyed a delicious burger while I found the fish dish to be excellent. The only thing missing was the mushy peas that I love to have with my fish. Despite that, overall, we had an absolutely wonderful experience and will definitely be returning soon.

Visited The Forest tonight with my Husband and Daughter for our Wedding Anniversary The menu stated fish of the day it turned out to be the turbot which i ordered it was cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious my Husband had the new Greek lamb dish best meal he's had at the forest really won him over and the chef accommodated my daughter by especially preparing a GF carbonara from the specials board the atmosphere was lovely had a great night View menu

We had a spontaneous night away and decided to stay at this restaurant. We were greeted by a friendly staff member who showed us to our room, which was clean and comfortable. The food was exceptional, with generous portions and delicious flavors. The staff at the bar and restaurant were attentive and welcoming. The breakfast was also great, and we enjoyed watching the open kitchen. Overall, it was a lovely stay and we will definitely recommend and return to this place. Thank you!

Room 8 was nice, clean, and initially quiet, but then loud music started playing from downstairs at 5 pm until nearly midnight. We were exhausted from our long drive and were hoping for an early night. Despite requesting a quiet room, we hardly slept at all. It was disappointing because the restaurant had a lovely atmosphere, great staff, a good location, and delicious food. The breakfast the next morning was also fantastic. However, I'm not sure if we would return due to the poor sleep experience, which is a shame.

Wow what can I say after a very entertaining greeting ! everything was perfect. The atmosphere, rooms, food and staff were amazing. A special mention has to go to my morning friend Julie. Julie knew I would be waiting at the bar door at 7 to log in and start work. She always made sure my cuppa was ready with the most delicious of shortbread. Julie exceeds expectations nothing is too much trouble, she certainly is like a workaholic. I cannot fault this place, if I had to find one thing as nothing is ever 100% perfect, I would say perhaps a little revision of the greeting would be good. You will love it here we will be back. Booked last minute on Saturday 18/11/23 Was very busy (which was lovely to see) Due to booking last minute and our early arrival we had a very short wait for table. Lovely waitress advised us of wait and apologised-was nice to be kept informed of this-excellent service! Clean table and seats next to fire-menu extensive, clean and professional looking. Meals we ordered were lovely: chorizo scotch egg was massive and tasty and the porchetta outstanding (veg could have been hotter but everything else amazing) The chocolate cheesecake was delicious also and just the correct portion size. The menu looked good and we all six chose different things. None of us rated our food very highly. My wife had Moroccan lamb at £24, but the spices were simply dry for you to add as seasoning, rather than being cooked with the meat. The rice was too dry to eat. I had Calzone Parma, which consisted of mozzarella inside a pizza with a slice of ham on the top, a heap of rocket and tomato sauce in a container. My wife asked for a glass of wine which never turned up. We were asked if the meal was OK by the waitress and my wife said hers wasn't but that is the last we heard of it. Just awful! Having had 2 previously awful experiences we thought we'd give this a last chance and only because yhe sun was shining and the beer garden is the perfect venue! Having joked that we'd just get pizza's and beers as what could possibly go wrong... how wrong we were. Firstly we ordered 4 kids pizza's (charged just over £60) which arrived literally black on the bottom! We then ordered some more for us adults (one was complimentary due to the others being burnt) .
