"Ce resto est super.La nourriture est excellente et les portions sont très généreuses.Nous avons pris le 1er menu avec une terrine de foie gras (de très bonne qualité) et un magret de canard avec pommes de terre salardaises avec cèpes. Nos enfants ont pris le menu "princesse" qui aurait pu tout aussi bien convenir à un adulte (terrine de foie gras, steak haché ou poisson) et boules de glace.La carte des vins réserve également de bonnes surprise.L'accueil et le service sont enfin très agréables et d'un grand professionnalisme.Un seul conseil : pensez à réserver !"

"Driving down the D5 to Cherveix Cubas you will find the restaurant at the ’T’ Junction with the D704 and situated on the bend just across the River Auvezere. There is parking behind the restaurant although it is not too obvious nor is it well sign-posted but there is also plenty of free parking at the side of the D5 opposite.As you enter it has a modern contemporary and clean feel with black tiled floor, to the side there is an extremely spacious and light filled conservatory area overlooking the river bank. We understood that there had been several changes of ownership in recent years but the current proprietors are a Franco-German couple and this blend is reflected in their menu offering.My entrée was a wurst salat (a German sausage salad, reflecting the female half of the team) which was quite palatable. The main course was a chicken breast stuffed with cream cheese with the usual suspects vegetable wise. The chicken in this instance was a little dry although the cream cheese filling made for a smooth taste. Dessert was a walnut cake which unfortunately was a little dry but went down ok with coffee. It was a nice atmosphere and the male owner who seemed to be the sole server was very pleasant and also accommodating dog-wise, the restaurant being Dog friendly. He happily provided a water bowl for my hound but as a nice touch after serving dessert he went and brought out dog biscuits for my four legged friend who, having slept under the table during most of the meal gratefully left his lair to wolf them down."

"Originaire du Béarn -Pays Basque, on a l'habitude de passer à table un peu tard, mais on avait compris qu'il fallait faire un effort quand on visite des endroits avec beaucoup de résidents anglosaxons. L'AVENTURE était annoncé ouvert jusqu'à 23h. On s'est présenté à 20h33 et on s'est fait refouler sans ménagement, à cause de l'heure trop tardive. Ça ne donne pas envie de revenir. Nous avons appris, à nos dépends, qu'il vaut mieux avoir faim à 19h30 qu'à 21h quand on visite le Périgord.Sittelle64"

"I'd heard great things about the Cremaillère since its reopening so was eager to visit. However, it wasn't a very good experience at all. We all opted for the menu du jour with my father choosing soup and me and and my husband the mushrooms à la Grecque. Dad's soup came as a weeny portion in a large tureen which you had to tip to ladle into the bowl, like you would to get at the real scrapings of bigger tureen of soup. He said it was just OK and there was no bread offered. His starter was cleared before the drinks arrived and we were still waiting for our starter! Ours was just alright also. For the main we had a Mediterranean stule cod with chorizo and tomato and then really weirdly some sort of sprouted chia seedy ricey mush and soy sauce to go with it. Very odd fusion choice. I could only describe the cod as being rank. It had a very strong smell and taste of ammonia and for all the time it was on the table we were surrounded by masses of greenbottle flies, obviously attracted by the stink. The only redeeming feature was the Breton style salted caramel and palet au beurre tiramisu which was frankly delicious. I won't go again or indeed recommend, there are better local places to try."

"Menu à 20 euros correct mais plats à la carte juste inadmissibles, même quantité que dans les plats au menu, 15 euros pour une soi-disant salade repas avec 3 bouts de salade et un minuscule bout de saumon mariné et 2 mini tranchettes de saumon. Plat de poisson à la carte congelé, moins gourmand que celui du menu. Radin en pommes de terre... Bref, du très moyen pour le Périgord. Pas génial et cher pour ce qui est servi..."
