"Not as good as our last visit. We made everyone aware from the outset that we were time constrained. It was not that busy. It took forever to get a couple of steaks out following our appetizer, so we ate them under duress and against the clock. Appetizers (perfect goat cheese and spinach empanadas) were presented in a lacklustre manner with some haphazard salad greens strewn on the plate, half of them wilted from the heat of the empanada visually unappealing and disappointing. The steaks were great, the fries were superb and the chimichurri delicious. But we arrived at 6:20pm, had ordered by 6:30pm, finished our appetizers at 6:45pm but then had to wait until 7:00pm to get our steaks and then, only after we had agitated for their arrival. We had to make a train at Wadhurst station at 7:29pm c. 7 minutes away so we had 15 minutes to bolt down a steak and pay so we had to forego any chance of having a dessert. The staff are so friendly and accommodating and the milieu and ambience are great. The place was nowhere near full so, really how long does it take to grill a steak medium rare?! All the same, we would not let that hiccup deter us from visiting again."

Overall very good service. I ordered chick pea chorizo starter chicken main skewer dish. All arrived well presented and hot. Very Tasty indeed. Would definitely be going back, after lockdown!

This is our new favourite restaurant. A different kind of food which was absolutely delicious. We had three courses which were all lovely. Kids menu is also fantastic- our 5 year old loved it too.

It was wonderful to break out of Lockdown 2.0 and enjoy some very yummy steak, empanadas and cerviche. The team have obviously worked so hard to welcome people back; the fire was roaring, only just a bit warmer than the welcome !

excellent in front of home team, enjoyed our evening, but South American eat not entirely what we are used to. the rib-eye steak was excellent and perfectly cooked. the restaurant was quiet but not unexpected, as it was the first week of reopening after the last shutdown. because such tables well disassembled and we felt covid safe.

Excellent front of house team, enjoyed our evening but South American food not quite what we are used to. The rib eye steak however was excellent and cooked perfectly. The restaurant was quiet but not unexpected given that it was the first week of reopening following latest shutdown. As such tables set well apart and we felt Covid safe.

"Our visit last night Thursday, June was not our first, and it won't be our last. Wadhurst has needed a fine restaurant like this and now seems to have got it at last. The menu immediately strikes you as on par...with the best in London, even if there are only half-a-dozen dishes listed. Last night, my wife chose the fish-of-the day, which was sole with crispy capers, samphire, jersey royals and lemon butter. I chose organic local chicken supreme with garlic, mozzarella, tomato and crushed potatoes. Mine was perfect, my wife's less so. The chef had been a little too generous with the lemon butter, or was it olive oil? There was one other fish on the list, and a vegetarian meal. The wines are very expensive, but there are some excellent beers available, our favourite being Harvey's best bitter. As for the general pricing policy, which has a lot of locals complaining, we think that for two courses or for three is reasonable. And perhaps this is a deliberate ruse to discourage families with noisy children in order to provide a place of rest for others. The waitresses could not be more friendly and polished, at the same time un-intrusive. We like the piped music, which is in the form of soothing songs with the level kept low. The new seats, too, are really cushioned armchairs. I would have liked the complimentary hot bread with butter to be granary, and I would have liked to see a side salad on the menu for a healthier meal. But altogether, every good wish is due to the owners Sussex Pass and the chef Adam Sear. We'll certainly go back, but we'll also keep watching them, for signs of their losing their nerve. Wadhurst, with some shops on the High Streets, badly needs them."
