"gurkha village is a long restaurant near oxford. the employees are very respectful and attentive to the needs. the service time was very good. while the food was not really typical nepali, as the Nepalese nutrition in the usually consists only of a meal dhal lenses) bhat reis) takari cured vegetables. However, the meal times are generally very good and are quite large in portions. most of our meal times were a good quality except the Nan-Brot. I think the management could introduce some new meal times to the menu and have specials on a blackboard somewhere daily. Otherwise, it is one of the few Indian restaurants in the opposite of oxford that are worth visiting."

My first visit with group of colleagues for get together after work. Great food and service and there was no rush to clear the table afterwards, relaxing evening, we will return.

Had set menu as friend new to Nepalese food Slightly disappointing that no popadoms/chutneys included and more expensive than advertised both on website and in leaflets outside the restaurant door ....am guessing these changes are fairly new....I emailed them afterwards but no response. Queries with waitress who didn’t know what I was talking about

The food was average and slightly disappointing. The starters came out lovely and hot and tasted fine, however the main dishes were a complete dissapppointment. The sauces for the curry were tasteless and almost watery. I usually hear very good things about Gurka village and have been before when it hasnt been like this. Obviously having a bad day, or perhaps a change of chef has occured. I wouldnt hurry back at the current state.
