"Gusto is always a treat, and I find they are one of a handful of restaurants that can cook a really decent lasagne. Our lunch didn 't start well, though, when lasagna wasn 't available to be replaced with a mediocre arrabiata , and despite only being 1/3 full, service was so painfully slow, we had to change our plans for the afternoon. The little niceties do you need more drinks? , How is your food? or sorry for the delay, your food won 't be long simply didn 't happen, and we felt quite let down by poor service, without any apologies. I 'm sure this isn 't typical of Gusto, and we 've had many good meals here and surely will in the future , but I think it would be a good idea for managers to refresh servers ' minds of how the small courtesies and communications can make or break a dining experience. On this occasion, Gusto got it quite wrong, and I hope they can take this constructive criticism on board. We 'll be back, but I don 't think we would be too tolerant if this hopefully one-off experience was repeated. A bit more effort please Knutsford."

Not impressed I have to say. Massively expensive for what it is. £19.95 for 5 pieces of scallop ravioli with little sauce. The salmon dish minimal. £38 for a bottle of Melbec which sells for £8 at our local supermarket. Mediocre service yet a service charge wacked on! Going home hungry and looking for a takeaway

My son has been seriously unwell and his first trip out in some time would have been tonight with his girlfriend. Her train from London last night and this morning was cancelled. He was charged £10 per person to cancel the booking. This is the perfect policy to lose and upset customers. I have NEVER EVER been charged to cancel a booking. What a stupid idea. View menu

Table was only ready 15 minutes after booking time, even though the table was free just after we arrived (girl at the front was too busy texting on her phone . We were sat down (15 minutes late but then no-one served us for a further 15 minutes (for drinks . Had to chase the food order which then came quickly but then no-one asked if we needed anything condiments (like paremsan . Don't blame individual staff but just poor experience overall.

Great spot for lunch early dinner or later supper We booked later lunch, still a nice atmosphere, I wanted a different table to that offered and no trouble at all in choosing! Time to decide was appropriate, food arrived and time between courses was perfect. No waiting but no rushing just so relaxed. Lovely calming atmosphere. Staff very attentive but not pushy! And the food so tasty and beautifully presented. Desert wow I really wanted seconds . Most certainly recommend.

Hello, visited Knutsford Gusto last night and felt I should write a review to compliment the staff and chef. From the moment we arrived we were greeted and had quick service from the bar for drinks before we sat. We were able to put back the table booking by half an hour and when we were seated and food arrived it was so tasty, hot and presented so well. We have chateaubriand x 2 and lasagne. The waiter has worked there for 25 years and provided excellent friendly service to us aswell as another waiter who ensured my food allergy was dealt with, which is very important to me. Great relaxed atmosphere and great staff and chef. Highly recommend! View menu

I Came to my favourite place last night for a “first date” the guy decided not to show or even book a table after saying he did and they couldn’t accommodate me more, I had the best meal and service you can ever imagine the 2 young girls couldn’t do enough for me, there was a gent with piercings and the restaurant manager , I was never expecting what they did for me especially the girl who brought me my bill, I never got anyone’s names unfortunately , truly blessed to have such amazing staff work for you. Thank you guys so so much I appreciate everything, I will always return because the food and service has always been outstanding everytime I’ve come but last night they went above and beyon...

We recently celebrated a family birthday at this restaurant and had a great experience. The atmosphere was wonderful, and the food was plentiful and delicious. The kids' meals were also good value for money, as evidenced by the clean plates left by all of them. I highly recommend the bruschetta, it was so good I could have eaten it all night! We were seated towards the front of the restaurant near the windows, and it was interesting to see how many people passing by were looking at the menu in the door. Despite not being during peak hours, the restaurant was busy with a younger crowd and couples, possibly heading out for food and drinks in Knutsford. The drink prices were typical for a resta...

"We came across this rather charming cafe whilst venturing the streets of Knutsford early one morning. The cafe looked impressive upon initial glance from the outside, whilst inside very clean. We were greeted quickly, seated immediately and the owner came back with our menus. We noticed there was also an upstairs area so in essence it was a decent size for a cafe. The place opens everyday, 8.45am 5.pm The postcode of the cafe is WA16 6ED, It was difficult to park outside but there was a car park on Malt Street, just around the corner, WA16 6DX. Toilets were upstairs, scrupulously clean. We ordered the Eggs Benedict which was priced at £10.00 the Omelette priced at £10.80 both decent value as both meals were delicious. The only critique was on our time here we encountered loud and boisterous fellow diners who seemed not to care about keeping the voices down which made it difficult to hear your own conversations. This is not the fault of the cafe, just unfortunate, that said, the cafe does have an open plan kitchen and the noise which comes from the kitchen was what sounded like continuous banging of pans etc, this could be easily rectified if the placed doors onto the kitchen to minimise the noise entering the dining area. All in all, a lovely cafe, decent value, superb food cooked to perfection, fresh ingredients and an extensive menu range, We will definitely come here again when next visiting the North West."

"I had pre-booked a table for six, including three babies. I was informed that three prams wouldn't fit, which was totally understandable, but I was assured there would be room for one pram and two high chairs. We made sure to bring travel prams that could fold small enough to fit in the cloakroom, and one of us even left their pram in the car. However, I was provided with a broken and unsafe high chair. When I requested a different one, a very rude staff member basically told me to deal with it. The pub was also uncomfortably hot and crowded, and we were seated right next to a fire. When we arrived, the fire was unlit, but a staff member came over to light it just behind one of the prams. I politely asked if he could leave it unlit since my baby was already feeling warm, but he ignored my request and went ahead anyway. The food, as always, was delicious, but out of the six of us, only four ordered the lamb dinner, which consisted of just one very lean lamb chop per person. The shared vegetable dishes for all six of us included only one small dish of greens, one small dish of cauliflower cheese, and one boat of gravy. Overall, I felt like we were being rushed and that our presence was more of an inconvenience. I'm genuinely disappointed because I used to highly recommend this place to my friends. After today, I’ll certainly think twice before returning. It's just not worth it, especially if you have children! Safety: Terrible Service: 1 Location: 1 "

"I visited The Railway Inn with 14 others for a Sunday lunch a few days ago. We rarely see one another so it was an occasion for us all. I was immediately greeted by frowns and cold shoulders at the bar when ordering drinks. I let it go. We all have bad days. We then sat for our meals. I had the Beef Dinner. The beef was dry and tough and swamped in a tasteless beige gravy that was literally dribbling off the edges of the plate. It was, sadly, the worst Sunday Lunch I've had. Still, I didn't want to spoil the occasion. When the meal was finished we wanted to sit outside in the large garden. We asked and was given rolled-eyes from the waitress who seemed irritated at our wish to go sit in the sun. Ooookay. I then went back to the bar to order another drink and heard three members of staff, including the very rude and flat-out obnoxious lady pulling pints, moaning loudly about having to sweep the floor near the high-chair we had at our table. The high-chair, of course, had a little toddler in it, and she sadly dropped a few crumbs. How dare she!? Well, they weren't happy. This was an appalling experience from beginning to end. I'm no stranger to poor service. It's a common occurrence, but I think this might just be the worst I've encountered in a long, long time. Food was bad. Service was horrendous. We spent around £350 in food and drinks here on this afternoon, and I wish we'd gone somewhere else. All 15 of us will refrain from visiting this location again, and we urge anyone else considering a nice meal out to find somewhere else to go and enjoy. The beer garden here is a sizeable one, but it isn't worth the rest of the awful stuff just to enjoy a table in a field."
