"I visited The Railway Inn with 14 others for a Sunday lunch a few days ago. We rarely see one another so it was an occasion for us all. I was immediately greeted by frowns and cold shoulders at the bar when ordering drinks. I let it go. We all have bad days. We then sat for our meals. I had the Beef Dinner. The beef was dry and tough and swamped in a tasteless beige gravy that was literally dribbling off the edges of the plate. It was, sadly, the worst Sunday Lunch I've had. Still, I didn't want to spoil the occasion. When the meal was finished we wanted to sit outside in the large garden. We asked and was given rolled-eyes from the waitress who seemed irritated at our wish to go sit in the sun. Ooookay. I then went back to the bar to order another drink and heard three members of staff, including the very rude and flat-out obnoxious lady pulling pints, moaning loudly about having to sweep the floor near the high-chair we had at our table. The high-chair, of course, had a little toddler in it, and she sadly dropped a few crumbs. How dare she!? Well, they weren't happy. This was an appalling experience from beginning to end. I'm no stranger to poor service. It's a common occurrence, but I think this might just be the worst I've encountered in a long, long time. Food was bad. Service was horrendous. We spent around £350 in food and drinks here on this afternoon, and I wish we'd gone somewhere else. All 15 of us will refrain from visiting this location again, and we urge anyone else considering a nice meal out to find somewhere else to go and enjoy. The beer garden here is a sizeable one, but it isn't worth the rest of the awful stuff just to enjoy a table in a field."

From the minute we walked in the staff were VERY RUDE and it just felt like they didn’t want us there! They moaned to each other about us, had a go at our kids and started winding everyone up. WILL NOT BE BACK!

Absolute hidden gem in Mobberley and great location near station! Came here for gorgeous Sunday dinner and the weather was beautiful so sat outside, the area outside is really big and good for kids, dog friendly so we could take dogs and staff are super friendly and welcoming! One of best Sunday dinners I’ve had in a while and all home cooked and portions really good! Even squeezed in a delicious ice cream! Will definitely be back! :

We knew this pub had a beer garden but wow what a surprise we got . On entering there were outdoor caterers serving food and what a lovely beer garden . Plenty for the children to play on and on a lovely grass area . The food was lovely and was been supplied by a local caterer they were doing an amazing job very friendly and making sure everyone was happy with their food . An outdoor Dj was starting as we left . I wish we lived nearer it would Be a lovely local .

Me, the misses and the 2 kids came here at the beginning of May for the afternoon. The sun was out and the kids were running riot in the huge garden they have. For the first time, the kids asked to stay at a pub longer when we said it was time to go. They loved the brand new climbing frame, swings, football net and go kart. There’s even a pig just over the fence that they could look at. We also had food which was lovely, nachos and chips for us. The kids had chicken nuggets and chips and sausage and mash. They wolfed it down. We will be returning. What a perfect family pub to keep the kids entertained while the adults unwind with a few beers! View menu

Thought I’d leave a review on here as looked before we went and the reviews were a bit mixed. Been for lunch today here as a party of 9 and can honestly say it was one if the best family meals we’ve had. Service was spot on, anyone with young kids knows it can be a bit chaotic going out for big family meals, staff were so accommodating and friendly. Food was lovely, nice home cooked food and lots of specials to choose from. The play area was fab, they looked liked they had updated it from the pictures I could see online. Nice secure garden so kids can just run around and enjoy themselves. Will definitely be coming again, thanks for a lovely afternoon. Would highly recommend to anyone with ki...

We went here for something to eat on a Saturday it was a dry but not to sunny day It is a good place to watch aeroplanes flying overhead from Manchester airport, it is also good for children as it has swings slids etc so it will always be busy on a nice day Dogs are also allowed in but I did notice whilst sat outside there was dog poo not been picked up by some owners and thought this bad with children running around We had food inside my wife had lasagne and I had gammon, we both thought the food was good and homemade As I was driving I was drinking alcohol free larger there was only one choice and worked out more expensive a pint than alcoholic larger a pint Would we go back again ? Yes I...

"I’ve never been before, we came yesterday for family dinner looking forward to a roast lunch dinner. The menu only had a choice of lamb or beef, not liking beef the choice for me was lamb. Within minutes a lady came to advise the lamb “had just sold out” I said I didn’t like beef but no other option was given and I therefore had to have the beef. The meal arrived the Yorkshire’s were not risen and burned. The vegetables were very nice the beef was shaped like a block mine was dry and over cooked. My husband had poured gravy all over his so he couldn’t tell but I don’t like a lot of gravy on my food and I could tell I gave my beef to him. We ordered a burger/cheese/bacon meal for our 12 year old, I made it really clear to the young girl to plead only out cheese/bacon/burger on and no healthy stuff no onions nothing she laughed and said she has a brother who is the same so understands we ordered the adult version as it said the children’s was for 10 years and under. My sons burger arrived with a load of crispy onions lettuce and tomatoes everything we had asked NOT to be added, I took the food off but he wouldn’t touch it having seen the salad was on it! After eating my main it was a massive disappointment to see the man behind us being served a roast lamb dinner when I was told it had all sold out!!!! I had ordered fruit crumble this was a massive portion in a bowl the crumble topping was nice but the fruit underneath tasted like melted jam rather than just gently cooked fresh fruit there was more fruit sauce than fruit making it quite sloppy I had a couple of mouthfuls and left it."
