"Had high expectations from this Greene King but was seriously disappointed and disgusted with my visit yesterday. Ordered the chicken BLT with Rosemary fries which came as an open sandwich with a side. Upon arrival it appeared to be overseasoned with black pepper and NO roseary on the fries at all, but to my absolute horror there were live and dead bugs throughout my plate of food. Never have I ever witnessed anything like it. Mortified, I politely and discreetly highlighted this to staff but not one person, inclusive of management seemed bothered about what had happened; the blasé response I recieved was 'probably just forgot to wash the lettuce ' I was offered a complimentary drink but the attitude towards us became hostile as if we were out of line raising the poor hygiene, bug ridden meal. I havent ever had an experience like I had yesterday. I often visit Greene Kings but this is certainly one to avoid."

this was our 4th or 5th visit and service and food quality is always first class. it's dog friendly and all the workers seem real animal lovers.

Very busy as the England match was on. The service was friendly and efficient. Food was a little pricey. Great mixed grill but the steak was medium and I asked for medium rare. Never seen hunters chicken like it. Normally you would get a whole breast but this was more like a casserole. Very stingy with the ice cream. Thanks to the football the car park was full. We had to park at another pub down the road.

I've been a regular at this pub for many many years....but not anymore... I go to the bar and get served on 3 separate occasions. ..no problems... I go a fourth time ...sit down we are busy give me a table number and we'll get round to serving you we are now busy.... hang on you've just served me 3 pints ....just serve me another ...hello I'm at the bar ...had 3 pints hello .....by then ....lost a customer after 30 yrs ...**** bar staff X3 remind Nicky......bye ????
