"Overall the Connaught was ok, but it could do with some improvements. Its a lovely foyer into the hotel, especially as it was Christmas with a fantastic tree and lights everywhere. However, there were absolutely no Christmas decorations or festive ambience in the restaurant even though it 's a 'Festive Afternoon Tea ' which was disappointing. The room is quite small and as of the layout, your table will have the main chair backing onto two other groups so it can be very loud as your sitting back-to-back. There didn 't seem to be enough staff either as you had to wait a long time to flag them down, though you could see them running around trying to help as many people as possible so that isn 't their fault, more management for not hiring enough staff. It didn 't have the same feel as other afternoon teas in 5* London hotels; the crockery was basic, you poured your own tea, had to flag down staff to start the next course, our first pots of tea arrived lukewarm so when the tea went cold, you 'd have to flag them down and wait 20 minutes for a new pot."

I ordered Sakura Wagyu Steak and Asparagus as a side dish. It took more than 60 minutes to get the steak and guess what? They forgot the side dish!!

Good food and nice staff. They bring various types of bread to choose from in a nice basket. The ambiance was not out of the ordinary, very quiet, not much going on.

None of the 7 courses are tasty. Very mediocre! I really don't understand how can it get Michelin 3 stars. All 1 or 2 stars restaurants I tried were way better than this one

Grossly overpriced. One would expect something special for what one has to pay. Inner seating offers no creative ambience. Wine list rather of snob value. Barely any choices below £1000. View menu

The food at this restaurant is like a work of art, with some dishes being outstanding while others are a bit bland. The wagyu beef was particularly impressive, but the upcharge was steep. The baba rum also had an upcharge for the 30-year-old brandy. Despite the high prices, the service and setting were excellent. Our meal for two ended up costing over 500 pounds, not including any drinks.

We had not visited this restaurant since they started using marbles on the menu for selecting dishes. Although it was a unique concept, my wife was not expecting it and we were pleased to see they had returned to a more traditional menu approach. The staff was wonderful and even indulged us by speaking Italian with us (as we are learning the language). We opted for the five-course menu with wagyu beef, which was outstanding. The wine pairings were excellent and made for a lovely evening. The lobster dish was particularly delicious and their take on onion soup was quite creative. This restaurant is now a regular spot for us and we look forward to seeing how their menu evolves in the future.
