We celebrated my father's birthday two days ago and we were great. . we wanted to stay in the neighborhood..fritti and bruschette good .io and my father we took a pizza every parmigiana with the excellent mozzarella and Parmesan. My mother took a pumpkin flowers and anchovies she liked very much..my brother took a great lucan pasta with sausage. Old school cuisine from Lucania (Basilicata, Southern Italy), traditional food, too traditional and served on a plate without any care. We were sitting outside, in the middle of a busy avenue, surrounded by parked cars and urea scents. The ingredients and the products on the various charcuteries boards seemed authentic and fresh too, but when I spotted the classic “insalata di mare” (those preserved fish mix with olive oil) it felt like 40 years were never passed from the 80’s.
