"We were there on a hugely busy evening during a sunny Half Term Tuesday. We arrived without a booking and only had to wait a few minutes to be seen to a table. Staff were efficient, attentive and friendly. It genuinely was one of the best curries we 'd eaten in a long while. Rajasthani Lamb Chops main was outstanding; beautifully marinated and cooked, with 5 small, tender chops, yes 5. Sides and breads were generous and excellent and my health conscious wife was very impressed with the lack of oil in the dishes. They clearly cater for all tastes and budgets as, not only did they look after a small boy on an adjoining table by offering him nuggets and chips they were wonderful his words not mine) they can also offer you a bottle of Moet at £54 their cheapest champagne) up to an eye watering £159 for a bottle of Dom Perignon. They also have plenty of great value wines amongst a very good selection. Surprised and delighted to have found it. If you want a table during the school holidays either book in advance or wait until later in the evening. We really can 't recommend it highly enough. Treat yourself, you know you want to..."

Every time we visit Seahouses, we always stop by this restaurant. The food is delicious and the prices are reasonable. They were quite busy, but we only had to wait about 10 minutes for a table. The best part was that my son treated me for Father's Day!

Coming from horrible Bradford, I can confidently say that I have had some of the worst curries ever, served up in the scruffiest dives, by the most rude staff imaginable. This place on the other hand was outstanding! Well done guys. The family loved it. Probably the 10th time we've visited over as many years. View menu

The service was outstanding—quick and friendly. The atmosphere was laid-back, the music elegant, and the chairs were quite comfortable. But most importantly, the food was truly exceptional; each dish was bursting with a variety of spices. It was absolutely delicious! We would gladly travel a long distance just to return to this restaurant. Highly recommended!

"This place is simply too expensive for what is delivered. There’s nothing wrong with the food per se, but the prices are astronomical. We ate the leek tart, as a starter and it was £12. It was fine, but didn’t deliver the impact we were expecting for the price. It wasn’t made fresh, and the side salad was dripping in bog standard vinaigrette. Not inedible, but nothing special. I had the salt and chilli squid with ‘Asian slaw’. I was expecting flavours of coriander, lemongrass, lime, mint; all what I would consider pan-Asian flavours. When the dish arrived I could see straight away it was not to be! Instead of what I’ve described there was a fairly ordinary looking salad, swimming in a pool of (what tasted like) supermarket hoi-sin sauce. Really too much and overly sweet. The squid itself was well cooked but a very sparse portion for £16. Other dishes included lobster, at almost £60 (market price apparently) which was competent but came with bought in chips. No flavour to chips, they were semi-stale. We had higher hopes, I’m afraid. The service and atmosphere were perfectly fine, no issues there. Staff were efficient and friendly. I’m afraid for us, holidaymakers willing to spend money, this restaurant doesn’t represent good value. I enjoy eating out, but I hate feeling ripped off…and I’m sorry to say, that’s how dining at ‘The Potted Lobster’ felt. Save yourself the bother and go to the local butcher/pie shop a few doors down. They were doing a roaring trade and I can see why!"
